Five to six years ago, maybe $400-$450....now, maybe $250-$325.
Part of the problem with McDermotts is for the past few years they have been remaking a lot of the old B-D line styles of cues. They are mostly variations, but they're close. Now the market is flooded with the old cues and new similar styled cues. That was one thing that differentiated the old lines (B, C, and D) and drove up interest in them then several years ago. The sharp points, wood inlays, etc....when they were making all that plastic and rounded stuff from the mid 90s on.
Another thing that's hurt McDermotts, is that fleabay is always loaded with cues being sold for roughly half or more off retail. Even these old style remakes. When you can buy a "$1000 retail cue" with a lifetime warrantee for $300 shipped, that's a no-brainer.....
When a manufacturer begins letting stuff like that happen, a common result is for the overall market on secondary cue sales to tank.
