I wanted a backup cue to use in leagues in case my tip fell off my pchauer. One of the forum members sugested a DP cue. Well I picked one up off ebay. I am really suprised of the quality for the price and the stick actually looks more expensive than my pchauer. I really like th DP and rotate both cues in playing. I understand DP pissed alot of folks off by selling them at a discount on ebay after they paid big money for them. But today I think they are hard to beat for bang for your buc.

I played with one for years. I rotate my playing cue between the DP and a Schon CX-06. But for the money, you'd be hard pressed to find a better cue than the DP.

If you do a search you'll find everything right and wrong about DP cues. I had one and although the ferrule came loose I'd still reccommend DP.

10 years later, it's a great value. But, ask the folks that bought his "high end" cues before he killed their prices.

If you are just worried that you'd use a tip, why not just get a second shaft for the main cue instead of a whole new cue? For a backup you should get the same tip and shaft that you use normally, not a whole different cue. If anything people get a cheap second cue to play in bars so they don't get their nice $300+ cue stolen.

You made a wise choice. Why buy just a shaft when you can buy a whole cue for the same price as just a shaft.

If the Pechauer has that funky joint...good luck getting a shaft for a reasonable price.

Time for another nickname thread.

Hey, who asked you?? Didn't know people had to get approval from you for a thread? Advice=don't click on threads you have no interest in, and don't troll just for the sake of trolling. Good day sir.

That wasn't trolling.

I cannot presume to know what nostroke was thinking when he replied, but it may well have been that this topic has been well covered in the past, or that the topic may have been more correctly placed in the cue review section, or that simply searching on the topic would have unearthed a plethora of Dale Perry threads that could have been added to, rather than starting a new one; like this one, for instance.

I think enough DP cues have been bought, played with and handled that there is a spot on account of his output here on the board.

Some people do like them. Not surprising. You know, some people drink coors light?

This was my thought immediately. Get a 2nd shaft...btw, that's why most custom cues come with two shafts in the first place.

Hey Troll! I like Coors Lt!

So what if Coors Light is mass produced by machines and made with ingredients that are bought in bulk taking away the ability to manipulate some of the unique undertones in flavor and body that you'll find in homebrewed or craft beers? So what if maybe Coors Lt doesn't maintain strict quality standards.

Oh, wait, maybe it isn't that different than DP's
