could anyone who has tried DP's dp-r shaft give a brief review, comparing it to the 314, ob-1, etc? I'm thinking of buying one of DP's ebay cues and was wondering whether or not it'd be worth it to upgrade to his low deflection shaft. I've heard that some people don't like the taper on his normal shafts

thx!

got a dp-r

I have a dp-r shaft. Its good but i would take a predator or ob 1 over it for about the same price.

hey, thanks for posting. it costs $100 with the purchase of a cue, which is probably less than what a 314 or ob-1 would cost. would you say the amount of deflection is comparable to other shafts on the market?

Its a good deal then

Yeah its definately worth 100$ extra. u may want to go with the talisman tip also. They come with Le pro tips.

I got two with an older Dale Perry I bought and they seem to be nice shafts. I haven't shot much with a Predator, so I can't directly compare them, but it'd probably be worth the extra money. Not sure if the taper will be any different, though.

On one of my DP's, I opted for the extra 100 and got a DPR. I didn't give it enuff table time, and at the time didn't have a 314 or a Z to compare it to.
Since then I did buy the Pred shafts and like them, but in the long run would prefer a quality stock maple shaft. For the time used, I didn't see a huge difference in the DPR vs the regular shaft that would blow my hair back or anything.
They are a well built shaft but you are the only person that can judge how well you like them.
For $100 trade over, go for it.
