Can anyone recommend places to play in the Dallas/DFW? Preferably, spots in the north Dallas/Lewisville area.....moving to Lewisville at the end of August and would appreciate any leads on good places to play. Searching the forum, seen references to Diamonds and the Billiard Den, but not much else. Prefer 9 footers if at all possible, and would be great to try snooker, a 5 x 10, or even billiards. My fuel mileage rivals that of a jumbo jet, so the closer to Lewisville, the better, but don't mind a little travel on the weekend to hit a good spot :D

Also, would be great to meet some local AZ'rs....open to playing leagues if ya got a spot.....also willing to play some cheap sets, as long as you'll spot me the 9 :D Up for 1pckt, 14.1, 8, 9, or 10, as well as any other games, willing to learn....

Look me up when you arrive. I'm always up for treating new folks to tour of the area. I'll PM my details.

I'm not familiar with places "up north" - but Lewisville is about 25 miles from the billiards den and Diamonds - give or take a few miles. I'm sure the people with relevant info will chime in soon.

Not many 9fters in the area.

Diamonds is great.

The Billiard Den will fit all your wishes.

CLICKS on Marsh Lane might be the closest place that's nice.

I suspect you read my posts amongst others. I still owe my detailed report on the Billiard Den with pictures. Do be sure to catch up with Thomas and RandyG. Both great people and they should be able to get you started. Tons of places to play, you will just have to sample them and find the ones that fit your tastes. You have pretty easy access to the Billiards Den and Diamonds and I wouldn't be surprised if Denton has a nice place to play now.

I was staying near the intersection of 75 and 635 and I think there were close to a dozen places to play pool within six or eight miles. I drive much further to play pool where I am at outside New Orleans. there are a few tables within ten miles of me but I generally drive fifteen to thirty-five miles to play and that is over an hour's driving time.

Tons of league action at the Billiard Den if you want to get into that and right up the road is RandyG's Cue-Tech school. He is easily one of the top instructors in the country and if I lived as close to him as Lewisville he would be lightening my wallet fairly regularly for lessons. No idea about the action at the Billiards Den but Diamond can provide all you want at pretty much any dollars you want. I think small action would be easy to have at the Clicks too and there are a handful of them around.

if you are up for a bit of a drive, Arlington has a couple of poolrooms worth visiting. Rustys is always good for some cheap sets and Clicks on 360 has good equipment.

Diamonds is the best in town though.

There is a place called Rackem in Denton (sorta close to Lewisville) that's not too bad. Some tournaments, alot of 8 footers, can't remember if they have 9's. Only place in Lewisville , that I know of, is Sterlings. Most don't like it.
 
Btt for the afternoon crowd....appreciate all the advice on DFW places to play...
