Watched Dan Louie run 16 straight racks of 8 ball this weekend at the Littlecreek Casino 8 ball tournament. Tourney was race to 7, alternate breaks on Diamond Barboxes. Dan finished a match with two break and runs and two runs off of dry breaks by his opponent. He then plays Todd Marsh and runs all 7 racks! Todd broke dry three times. He then ran the first 5 racks against JD Doherty before JD broke and ran the 6th game. Dan came back with another break and run of his own, so some would say he ran the 17th also.

Great shooting Dan! It was a lot of fun to watch.

That's a great accomplishment, but I don't consider it 'running' 16 racks. IMHO to run 16 racks I think you have to break each time, make at least one ball, and then run out each time, 16 times in a row. Still, as I say, a great feat.

but in this case he didn't have the option to break every time.

But it sure sounds like, every time he got to break, for 16 racks in a row, he ran out.

Impresses the hell out of me! And yes, I wish more bar tables here in the PNW were diamonds. I've yet to see one. Bar tables are Valley here...

I think half his 16 run-outs were after his opponent broke dry, and half were off his own break.

It's a helluva feat in any case but that would mean his opponents broke dry eight times in a row and left Dan an open shot to run out.

Im glad my lessons are paid for already hed probably want 10 $ an hour after such a smalll show of talent......

sounds like he ran 16 to me.

very awesome

i once broke and ran the last 3 and ran out 2 off my opponents dry breaks to win 5-3. i promptly lost my next round cause i was so happy of how well i played.

It's sounds like 16 to me too. He didn't miss a ball for 16 games. Quite a feat.

a nicer guy

if there ever was a guy that deserved it its dan! great shooting dan!

In a alternating break format thats as close as you can get to a 16 pack! Wow, good shootin Dan!!

Wish I coulda been there. That casino is pretty nice. The tournament room is a whole seperate building from the casino. The only thing is the limited space with only room for about 40 tables.

Here was the entry list of who played:
Tourney List

Here is where the tourney is held if you can imagine 4 rows of pool tables set up:

If he broke first in those last sets in reality he ran 9 Racks in a row. Startign on the other mans dry break would not count as a break and run. But all his own breaks would count. Now that is still real strong. I have not heard of anyone running 9 racks of 8 ball.

This thread is further proof that the term "running racks" needs to be better defined.
Funny you said that, I was just thinkin all the people that say he didnt do it, must not have read the title. Regardless if he broke or not he ran 16 racks
