Darren Appleton is a great tournament player, but...

There were just two people named Chris that posted in this thread, one of which is a player but he didn't exactly call darrin out. That's why I asked. He has played and beat darrin for the cash, where darrin played frustrated, bad and couldn't break.

I was just saying that Darren has gamble and can gamble. Also I wasn't directing it at Chris Tate. (Sorry Chris I forgot your first name when I made the comment.) My point is that if Chris Bartrum wants to see a gambling match then he can offer to play Darren, Shane or any of the name players and they can surely get staked to play.

Where did this come from? I never said or asked to play daz. On the flip side you want to play me for 20 k ill spot you .

My point is that you or any top player can play Darren or any one on TAR in a "real" gambling match. TAR has not stopped that format either. Based on what Justin said Darren might not have the backing against the very elite but who knows what will happen when the money is posted.

Well let's make this fair, so what does he need, 3,5,7,last two and the breaks? That's probably enough! lol

Personally I could not get there with the rainbow and the snap. But I would try some one hole with 11:4 same spot every top player robs me with.

Shane tried to bet on this set. Darren tried to get staked on the side for this set and nothing came together for whatever reasons.

Shane has bet on the sets he has lost in the past.

Don't let not having any idea what you are talking about slow you down though.

Honestly I am sick of all the "But it aint gambling". Guess what folks most gambling in pool aint gambling. Last I looked I don't see people talking about MMA fighters fighting for the same money these guys are playing for not fighting as hard as if they were betting their own. If you would rather watch two shortstops play $50 sets for their rent money then it shouldnt be too hard to find some to sweat.

Golly gee, actual factual information. Pretty strong that Shane could not get a bet on himself. He should come to azb's action room. I am sure someone would have been glad to let him spot Darren 20 games for a decent bet.

Chris Genteil one hole, i'll post the 20 dimes today, you ready:wink: i am!!

:-) touché

On AZB, there's no such thing as an off night.

Everyone has to fall into these neat little pigeonholes. Either a guy is a GAMBLER or he's a tournament player. He's either great under pressure or a DOG. He's either a filipino, shane, or he's a nobody. They're either betting their own, or it's a meaningless exhibition and the players aren't really trying.

It's all horseshit... These guys play at nearly the exact same speed, and have proven multiple times they can play under extreme pressure. After a thousand racks, one guy might have a 1 or 2% lead on the other, but nobody's paying close enough attention to say for sure which one.

And yet plenty of guys will talk as if a race to 25 is a foregone conclusion, and they boldly proclaim the window is open for anyone who thinks _______ can win. Then if their favorite wins the short race they go on AZ and tell everyone "see, I knew _______ had no shot. It was obvious."

You know that speculation is the world's number one free activity. Before the Internet it was done at the bar. It is harmless. They play and we talk about their play. We want to be them and they are very glad they are not us.

I caught the final of the champions of champions at the mohegan sun (2012) this arvo on espn2 (Australia) - noticed the ref using some kind of brush or something at the interval between sets ? Was he just spreading the chalk out on the cloth for cosmetic purposes ? (there aint no nap on simonis to align...)
