Darren Appleton (should remove butt bumper and screw on a wheel)

I wonder why Darren drags his pool cue on the floor. Maybe instead of investing in pool cue bumpers he should invest in one screw on wheel.

I Think

It's a British/Snooker thing...I see Karen Corr doing it also.

Wedge

Might explain some of those old Brunswick cues from the 20's and 30s.... always wondered why they were so beat to hell on the butt end, like they have been dragged on concrete, but the rest of the cue is in decent shape (for its age)

You know, PoolChump?
I never paid attention to the pool cue "drag," but I'll be dogged, it's true.
I would have to think it uses less energy.

Sort of akin to not holding one's pool cue when an opponent is shooting.
Not holding a cue during certain parts of a match allow for the player
to relax the hands.

Is there something that doesn't piss Earl off, maybe they should set up a table in a Monastery for the pearl to play on.

Maybe less of a wheel and more of a ball that freely turns as it is drug along the floor. Might offset the balance of a cue though.

Only problem I see is when you lean it against a wall or whatever, it may roll and fall.

Its snooker..,

I habit formed from playing snooker and have to drag that long bridge cue back to the corner when theres no rail for it under the table

A year or so ago I pointed out on a stream that Jayson Shaw was dragging his cue just like Darren. Someone replied that Jayson had been practicing with Darren for weeks.

So it spreads like a virus.

I was looking at Darren playing Ruslan Chinahov, when he missed a shot and smashed has cue. He won't be dragging that cue again as he did some serious damage.

^ I did a little digging about the incident, turns out someone uploaded the rack in question to youtube. Hope the link works as I wrote this on my phone.

Very out of character for Daz. Its too bad to see him struggle.
But we are just humans, sometimes we tend to lose our temper no matter how well we usually keep it :frown:

I've seen Daz a little upset, but not mad enough to break his cue.
Was that a money match or tournament? If so, did that miss cause Daz to lose?

It was a money match between Daz and Ruslan, 10ball, winner break, wood rack, call shot/safe, race to 30. Daz won 30-29.

no big deal alot of players have done this and alot worse..... i love pool but i dont get this angry about pool.....now i devoted my entire life 8 hours a day to basketball for 15 years....i was passionate about it and would be emotional during games as would others on my teams who made the same sacrifices.....i imagine this is how darren and other pros feel about pool......i can remember games where we had to be walked out by police after winning.....for the most part darren is always a gentleman. Im sure predator will give him as many shafts as he likes and they should.
