Alexander the Great, Alfred the Great, Charles the Great (aka Charlemagne), Catherine the Great, Peter the Great, Frederick the Great and, of course, Darren the Great.

Darren Appleton came to the United States as an established legend of English 8-ball. He has won the World 10-ball Championship, the World 9-ball Championship, two US Open 9-ball events, two Challenge of Champions events and is the reigning World Games gold medalist. He came second in the 2012 US Open One Pocket. He now has a gold, a silver and a bronze in major 14.1 competition and is the world record holder with a 200 ball run in 14.1 competition. He won the 2014 Accustats All Around Competition, beating out three superstars in Hohmann. Van Boening, and Orcullo.

Is there anything this man cannot accomplish over the glorious green felt? We are lucky to have the opportunity to watch this giant of our sport putting together a hall of fame worthy resume.

Yes, he's Darren the Great.

.... oh yeah, and his recently released instructional DVD is pretty amazing, too.

Darren is a future hall of famer for sure despite his relatively short american (as opposed to english) pool career. Tough, solid, consistent and a resilient player he truly is.

Sounds like you had a "Great" time, Stu. Thanks for all the reports.

I think you've earned a "Stu the Great" moniker yourself for all you do!
