Date these Darts

I would say 1950's. If you look at the number 4 compare it to this:

Sometime around 1950 they changed the numeral style. If you look in the 1939 and 1949 catalogs, you will see the difference in the numerals used.

probably gonna be hard to find a color catalog in that era. They are Ivorylenes though. I thought that the darts were the forerunners of the centennials but the 1952 catalog you posted had the ivorylenes and the centennials pictured side by side, introducing the new centennial balls. but in the picture there's no 'darts' on the balls. Curious.
I'd say late 60s to early 70s. When I first started playing, a buddy of mine's table had balls very similar to this, and that was around '72 or '73.
Now I'm wondering about this set. Looks to be mismatched. Alot of difference in the #s. I even found a 2 1/8th Ivory cueball in it that I hadn't noticed before. That explains the old red dot I got with the old table I bought years back. I would venture a guess that the small cueball goes with the snooker set. But "Ivory"? Surely not a "stock" cue ball?

Just curious - does that catalog have either a Titlist cue or the Hoppe Pro in it yet? Do the cues show the new decal yet or still the older BBC decal?

I was never sure if these boxes were original. The [I think] older set still has the white 'Christmas bulb linen' in it but both lids are this one.

This catalog is a fall and winter 1939-40. No, the Titlist and Hoppe Pro has not made their debut. Yes, all the cues do show the new labels. I think the spring 1939 was the last one to show the cues with the eagle labels.

Thanks Rob, that's very good to know. So the decal changeover probably happened 1939 and they changed out the photo in your catalog update.
The earliest I have of the catalogs showing the Titlist and Hoppe Pro is the 1942 catalog - I sure would like to find a '40 or '41 catalog to see if they are in there yet.

I just went and looked through my catalogs. I have the Spring 1940 and they are not in there. My fall 1941 - spring 1942 catalog shows the Titlist and the Pro.
