I found out a little bit of info about both the website and the event dates. The reason the website is behind is because the person taking care of their site has been MIA. They hope to have everything updated by Oct... Maybe they'll get lucky and have it done before then, who knows. At least now we know why the website is behind. I would imagine they've been slightly busy at Diamond since they became the official supplier for the IPT so things like an MIA webmaster could easily fall to the wayside.

The break down on dates looks to be like this...

Banks will start on the 5th and should go through to Tue
1 pocket will start on the 6th and should go through to Wed
9 ball will start on the 10th going through to Sat the 13th

Registration will be taken once the website has been updated so keep checking the site between now and Oct. I'll do the same and will let you guys know when it's been updated, if someone doesn't beat me to it. The DCC website can be found here or if you follow the link in my signature to our raffle website, we've provided a link to the DCC website. Just click on the DCC logo and it will take you there.

Hope this helps!

T-girl,
Thanks for the info. I just finished making my hotel reservations. I'll be playing in the 9-ball at least. Which event will you be entering??

Can't wait.

I'll be entering the all you can drink and sweat with no sleep tournament. Unlike the 9 ball event that only last 3 days, this tournament lasts for 9 days and it's excruciatingly grueling yet fun as all get out. :p

How goes the Knee? They didn't waste anytime getting you in there to get things done.

Voodoo is a wimp and doesn't stand a chance against you.
My money is still on you and you are welcome to buy half. :D

The knee is doing as well as I could ever expect. It ain't 100%, but it is coming along. Surgery was on Friday and I put the crutches aside on Sunday. I hope to be playing in my league tonight. :D
Thanks for asking.

Timberly,

Have you heard about dates for the straight pool and 3C things? I haven't seen them anywhere yet.

Also, you hear anything about who may be playing in these nightly ring games?

I am def going in 2008!!!

Have read some old articles in magazines, and checked the website, and I just want to book flights right now, but 2007 doesn't fit for me... :(

To bad, now as I have started playing one-pocket a lot too... ;)

I hope the following answers any questions you have about 3C...

Great News for 3-Cushion Players
Two Qualifiers for the USBA National Championships
at the Derby City Classic.

Three beautiful Gabriel’s 3-Cushion Billiard tables will be featured for the two USBA Qualifiers. This year the qualifiers will take place in the main building in the Drink Water Room. Winners of each of these tournaments will be receiving a free entry & cash into the 2007 USBA National Championships. Entry fee is $125 and must be a paid up USBA Member. Play will be limited to 15 players for each of these two qualifiers and will be paying out 6 places.

The first qualifying tournament will be played Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 5,6,7th. The second qualifier will be played Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, January 9-10-11th. Each of the two qualifiers will be 3 flights of a 5 man round robin. Matches will be to 25 points. Paid entries guarantees spot. For more information on USBA Qualifiers call the tournament director, Paul Frankel (Professor-Q-Ball) at 901 756-2594.

Each player that enters the USBA Qualifiers will receive a FREE complimentary pass to see the Derby City Classic throughout the entire 9-day event, that includes bank pool, one pocket, nine ball and straight pool.

On January 8th, as an extra-added attraction Mazin Shooni (The U.S.B.A. National 3-Cushion Champion) is offering a special A’Mazin Clinic for beginners and advance players. This 2-hour clinic will help take your game to the next level. Early registration is suggested. For more information call Paul Frankel at 901 756-2594

I'll see what I can find out about the ring game and straight pool events. Both Grady Matthews and Bob Jewett post here and if I'm not mistaken, Grady is doing the ring games and Bob is running the straight pool.

As for the Ring game participation... I think Shannon Daulton has always been a staple in these events and right now he's the only one that comes to mind. (it's getting past my bedtime)

I'll look into this more for you tomorrow. ;)

Roy, sorry you can't make it this year but please start planning for next year. I promise, you won't be disappointed. :)

Thanks, Timberly. If I get there, it'll be for the first weekend, so that's good news on the 3C. Sorry to send you scrambling for info I could've tracked down, though.:o

No problem... I had already seen the post on 3C when Paul made it so it's not like I had to do a lot of digging. I don't have a photographic memory but I have a knack for remembering posts and the things people have said. It comes in handy during times like these when someone has a question or when you need to prove that someone is lying. ;)

I talked to Shannon this weekend and he said he is planning to play in the ring games.
