Davis Blanks for sale

Just a feeler.

I have two John David blanks. They are gorgeous but not exactly as I ordered.

Mr. Davis said to send them back to him and he will gladly replace them, but I feel bad and don't want him to have to "eat" them. Hence, this thread.

If someone here buys them, Mr. Davis makes out (I buy for new ones), you make out (sexy full splice blanks with no waiting) and I make out (eventually getting the ones I ordered).

Harry Richards was slowly turning them down, and I think they are about .100" over size. All the points line up and the veneers are clean.

Blank #1:

Ebony points into birdseye maple. Veneers are (outside in) black, double red, natural / tan, ebony point.

Blank #2:

ordered to replicate that sexy Schofield Bushka I've been dreaming about for 20 years.

Ebony points into curly maple, Veneers are Black, green, brown, tan / natural, ebony point.

I will post pics additional and measurements for SERIOUS buyers.

These will be for sale for 48 hours or less, then I ship them back to Mr. Davis.

Both blanks are roughly .920 / 1.330 plus or minus ten thou.

how much for the 2nd one? the one with the green veneers... You can PM me if you want to keep the prices quiet. Also, any other pics? clearer ones perhaps? a full lengh pic and one of the points. I'd also like to know the size at both ends.

Ive always wondered

Ive noticed on all his blanks that a piece of maple is spliced in on the bottom below the points, why is that?

for weight and balance.

If it was solid ebony all the way down it would weigh a ton and be very J-lo / butt heavy.
