Day Two -- Dispatch from the US One Pocket Open

Great write-up Lou! Sorry to hear you're out of the One Pocket - you playing in any other events? As much as I like watching the pro's I always like to pull for us working stiffs...:grin:

It seems tensions are running high with a lot of the pro's lately; I guess with all of the recent troubles with BB and the US Open & ABP it's all understandable. I just hope it doesn't ruin the atmosphere of the whole event though, as I've been looking forward to my trip there for a while!

I remember he didn't win the tournament but Mr. Dorsey, the owner of Diamond Billiards wanted to see a match between Andam and Schmidt. It wasn't even a contest. It was evident that Schmidt was outclassed from the start. It wasn't a large amount of money but the locals put their side action money on Andam. That pissed Schmidt royally and made him look like patsy.

Oh, now I remember, he was the reigning US Open champion at the time when Andam #$%@^ #ucked him..

How you been Brother Bay? Andam for sure could of spotted John S playing 9ball, if you guys had to to get him to play, you know how i feel about MR.ANDAMS game!

I seen more money matches then most people and i seen a lot of the great players play them, but i have never seen ANYONE do what MR.ANDAM did to my man Vanover!

Listen everybody here at AZ, MR.ANDAM is the best 9ball-10ball pool player that ever played the game, i seen it and i seen it twice and i lost my money watching it, but i enjoyed every bit of what i saw those two outings.

Earl Efren had no chance for the money playing Andam, i dont think either one of them would ever gamble against Andam, Thats how great he was!

100% agree. Lou's stories, while nicely written, have the aura of a polished spin-meister too them.

It's funny that the biggest keyboard bullies have the "sensational' stories making themselves out to be victims, when they meet their victims in the real world. If John really said said Mr. Laptop then it's a perfect comeback.

Get off the drugs or get better ones. Andam is a GREAT player but he can't win every time or even most of the time against Earl and Efren or Dennis or Shane or............

I'm having a ball, Richie. Did commentary from the TAR booth today with Larry Swartz for the DA v SVB match. I'm now at my favorite Italian resteraunt in Vegas, Onda, at The Mirage, sipping some prosecco :-)

As for JS, isn't it sad when a person confronts someone they have a problem with and all they can talk about is how they could physically harm the other person? It's seriously the egotistical jock equivalent to a "you mama" joke. He may as well have said "I don't like you, and my dad can beat up your dad."

I commend you on your reply, though. Especially this part: "I am a wannabe pool player, but could buy you several times over, and I feel sorry for you if pool is the best thing you've got going for you."

So often I see pool players puff their feathers like this under the assumption that they can get away with it because the are very good at playing pool. It's odd how so many talented players can forget that, as soon as they step out of the pool room (into the real world), that there isn't anyone within a 50 mile radius who knows who they are... just like the rest of us "nobodies."
