They may come back in fashion if the economy keeps tanking. You don't need electricity to run a pool table only lighting. That's why pool is popular in Iraq. Besides, pool halls are a great place for the homeless to hang out at - remember the old joke: "Pool hall burns down, thousands homeless."
 
I work directly across the street from where that was. I wonder which building it was. I'll have to look tomorrow. It looks like it is where the Orpheum Theater is now.

to play with Omaha John quite a bit when he came through Wichita down at Burke's Steak House.

Let us know what you find out, i'm curious if that building is still there. I tried to find some pics a while back of the old pool rooms,that one is about an hour away from where i'm at. That would've been something to see back in the day.
