DCC 2009 where is it going to be held

Old hotel everything there for the most part was resonable.

The smell coming out of that bathroom near the tournament room was anything but reasonable.

What Qlympics? Tabacco Growing Games?

No BCA ran singles & team events in Louisville. They call it "Qlympics". I found where the held it, the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in Louisville.

Thanks for the reply.

JMO but if a few dollars for beer and parking is an issue you probably shouldn't go in the first place. I would gladly pay for a newer, cleaner, better smelling place.

Based on the forum talk in the last month,if there is a move to a diff. location. logic should indicate a increase on all expenses. Think about where the derby has been held at. Old hotel everything there for the most part was resonable. Newer location & economy will affect the rates GURANTED. Result- less people will show over the yrs.

As an ecomics graduate, I agree with the analysis above, ceterus parabus (all other things being kept equal), however, DCC is an event like no other.

Where else can you rub shoulders with the TOP pool players on this planet, or get into a 460 great players banks/1P/9Ball tournament for peanuts? Talk and share a smile with Efren or Bustamante, Ralf, Grady, Billy Incardona, Shane Van Boening, Cliff Joyner, Jeanette Lee, Greg Sullivan, Dianna Hoppe, all the 700's of other pro's and great regional players and other pool-friendly folk, enjoy the companionship and competition in the AZ billiards room, experience the hilarious aftermath of the loudest fart ever heard by a shocked woman, gather raw material for the creation of your endearing stories in real time, etc. See quality pool being played everywhere, meeting new friends from around the world who share your passions? (me: emoting ME via pool, Karaoke, ladies, teaching, lubricated with a splash, stirred not shaken.) DCC is an opportunity like no other, squared. Think about that. The good stuff possible, versus cold cash only.

If the difference between $600 or $700 means that much, don't come, you aren't the kind of person I would enjoy meeting and getting to know. You have 9 months to get that extra money together, so save by giving up Twinkies and a Coke every day. The money will be there for what you really love. This year will be tough, no doubt, the economy sucks worse each day. But YOU can make decisions leading towards the DCC for you if you really want to get there.

It's always your choice of shot, baby. Get it together and I will see you there, and sing you some Karaoke for smiles. OK?

Thank you, Ste, you and your pretty baby Euro pool Ref Tanya whom I met first time at the DCC are case in point, and you know I like the dark beer, so I accept. Cheapskates stay home; but if you can, come to DCC and prepare to enjoy the big show.

I submitted my list of top 5 derby sites. The biggest problem is most of them are a good distance from the airport. Had I relocated to Louisville sooner this problem would not be an issue. There are some great sites and the last resort event is to ask UofL for space. That location is better for hosting people who do not know the city.

Hosting on a school would also add value for markets and promotion teams. Those college kids in that area would be turned on by such an event if it came to them.

When I live in the city coordinations will be much smoother.
There are some other places but none with that convention feel.

As for the passer-bys well they will adjust to the new conditions and discuss all the new features of enhanced DCC.

There is a hotel north of Catherine Street close to 4th street. I forget what it is called. It is at a quality higher than the Executive Hotel. Its across from where Octoberfest is.

There is a YMCA near Martin Luther King Street and that has parking availability better than Executive Hotel. There are several lots available in that area, in addition to hotel slots.

There are some residential zones with the capability of hosting the DCC. Around Bunsen Way on off of PlantSide Drive there is a Marriot (JeffersonTown) with the req. capacity for volume. And nearby are some competitively priced hotels. With access to entertainment areas 10 minutes from the site.

That city is great. With a little work and some experienced people it would be easy to build the city up. My allergies didn't act up once there, its a lovely place.

Guessing that Greg would have run through all of these options and more before - but have you put these to him for consideration anyway ?
