Hey, I resemble that remark!I've heard they are going back to slightly looser equipment, but it's still in the rumor stage. Contrary to what many had believed, it was the nine ball and not the one pocket that backed up the 2023 Derby like a sink. Hundreds of matches between sub-600 Fargo players on very tight equipment is what held everything up.
Even if all that is true its still a classic event. The original idea was to re-create Johnston City but they've gotten further-n-further away from the oh-so-awesome 'gambling carnival' that took place at the old ExecutiveWest. It does need a re-boot to work in the current pool world.I’ll bet dollars to donuts the only thing that “might” change is going back to 4.5” pro cut pockets.
No field limit. No entry increase (to reduce field). No back to race to 7 instead of 9. (Which was done to appease WPA 10 some ago, and now Predator has races to 4). No one pocket rule changes. No shot clocks. No software changes. Etc.

For tournament play the 'Grady Rule' should always be used imo. The up-table Varner-style wedgies are fine for action but just painfully slow in a tournament setting.they did change some 1p rules i think. both owe the same number balls = 0, etc.
I'm afraid you're right. Too many times the finals have been after midnight, and it seems to be getting worse., No good for the people who pay a lot of money to be there to watch. And have flights the next morning.I’ll bet dollars to donuts the only thing that “might” change is going back to 4.5” pro cut pockets.
