DCC...........and Food??!!!

Having been to previous DCC's and knowing what to expect as far as quality and price from the Ex.West, I was wondering about the food situation for the upcoming DCC. Ex. West wasn't great and somewhat expensive especially considering the food quality. Aside from their breakfast buffet it was lacking. IMO

Does the casino have reasonably priced good food or any restaurants located within a couple of miles??? I wanted to know in advance since I have never been to the casino or anywhere in the vicinity.

I have heard that many casinos are reasonably priced just to get you in to play the games.

Anybody know the food situation???

Harrah's have Buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and prices are $ 8, 12, 18 and 24 on specialty and sea food night.

I saw a sandwich/ snack and very upscale Steak house as well. I do believe there was more variety, but can't seem to recall.

Most Harrah's Buffets are wonderful, the one is Laughlin Neveda is just GREAT. Rio in Sin City is Also Great, Harrah's Tahoe is Great, Reno Harrah's's is Great...................SADLY THE ONE at Harrah Indian Casino in Maricopa AZ SUCKS

I thought Harrah's in Indiana's buffet was pretty good, actually and I've done my share of "fine-buffet-dining" since I am a duel residence of Indiana and Vegas:dance: However, buffet at Reno, Vegas have no choice but to beef up their standards for bucks since there are being competed from all angle. In Vegas, every next casino has bigger, better and cheaper buffet, so you basically have to keep up... but then again Harrah's (Indiana) don't have the buffet next door competition and still offer their Seafood buffet at only $24 vice $45 at Rios in Vegas...

You just can't have the best of both worlds...

hope the tournament has a good turnout .............. I was there for the whole thing last year for the first time. But I've talked to a lot of people who won't spend the money it's going to cost this year! I'll be there for a few days just to play in the 3-Cushion tournament ..... which by the way they couldn't make room for it at the casino! I couldn't believe that!

But I'll probably come over to the casino and watch for a day or two. I can't afford the high-priced rooms myself! If I didn't have a place to stay with a friend ..... I couldn't afford to stay over 2 or 3 days myself
 
any good bbq joints around the airport or holiday inn??
Im coming from california and we're lacking good bbq.
 
guys i live here in louisville and there is a great place on preston right by the airport and its call bootleg bbq. its just north of outer loop and preston.

It's going to be tough for us guys without wheels.....(and can't bribe the shuttle driver like we did last yr!)
 
Thanks for the recommendations! I'm not gonna have a car, so Im gonna have to taxi from the airport there and then from there to the Holiday INn.

But hey.... I'll do anything for some legit bbq. My mouth is starting to water:eek:
