DCC Dates 2010

You should wait until I have a signed contract stating what the room rates will be...They are tuff action matching up on their rooms....The DCC dates are Jan 22-30, 2010.....You can count on those dates and can make reservations whenever you want, however waiting till the ink is dry may save you money with a DCC rate...I'd be interested in what rate they would quote you now for those dates before I have a contract signed....Greg

According to their website their regular rates are $99 during the week and $229-$299 Fri and Sat. for January 2010. BUT they have the 23rd - 31st listed as SOLD OUT. So I assume the only way to get a room there is with a code for the DCC?

Don't want to discourage anyone.

The DCC is a NON-SMOKING tournament. Harrah's can allow them to smoke in some areas but to cast the impression that smoking is in the tournament rooms is mis-leading!!
I believe you can smoke in the gambling areas.

You cannot smoke in any of the tournament areas.

Please try to be accurate when posting as some people may rely on what you say in planning whether to attend or not.

Thanks

Mark Griffin

I was there and although the playing areas were supposed to be non-smoking, some did not comply with the rules, no matter, the whole place was filled with smoke anyway because smoking was allowed anywhere but the playing areas not just the gambling areas. Sorry but I enjoyed the EW much more because of the smoking issue and I feel smoking has hurt pool as much as it's hurt our nation's health. My grandmother, bless her soul, fifty years ago tried to keep me out of that "smoked filled pool room", she knew it wasn't good for you way back then.

Although I don't have the contract signed, I received a message today that we've reached an agreement with Harrah's for a 3 year deal at the Horseshoe in Southern Indiana. The dates for 2010 will be Jan. 22-30.

We must have made quite an impression as the G.M. has stated that he plans on assisting us with other Harrah's Properties to form a potential
Professional and Amateur Pool Tour...I can't celebrate yet, as of now it's only in the discussion stage, but it's definitely a very good start.

There will be more information in the near future. I'll keep everyone posted as best I can. Before I give more details I'd like the papers signed.

I'll also be posting around June 1 details on the upcoming Diamond table contrac for the Galveston Event.

thanks, Greg Sullivan
Greg, Will you have any Bar Box Players there this year? I really think the vendors need them to make money. I know it hard to have it all. If not are you ever planning on having it all together again?

Venue

The other option is to buy yourself an air mask. Fer chrissakes, this is our best tournament of the year, and you're hung up on second-hand smoke?

Buy the Accustats tapes.

We were talking about the venue, I liked the EW because it was smoke free. I support the DCC, I've been to all but maybe one and will continue to go. However, it would be much more enjoyable and successful without the smoke.

Some people prefer breathing air Paul ...........................

anyone who thinks they should be allowed to smoke in a confined area with other people present is insane ......and I don't really care who this offends , they are just not thinking ......!

Gregg says we're waiting on the lawyers to give approval of the final contract.
