Derby City is the best tournament in the world. Filler is the Killer and a very exhausted and lucky Killer.

It's an endurance race. What a way to start the year.

If they don't make wholesale changes it will become a second/third tier event. Difference in 'endurance' and lunacy.

The problem is Diamond. Plain and simple. Not the venue. Not the software. Not the internet. Diamond.
I don't know about Diamond but, the monitors above the tables that were supposed to display the scores weren't working, on some tables they were sliding quarters. Most had balls on the wire. There was a screen that displayed what table the players were on but you had to stand there and wait while it scrolled ... All while getting bumped because it was in a high traffic area.

Labutis is from Lithunania…a relatively small country.

No one from there has ever won a banner from his home country before. Here’s the research of when each country won their first Derby City Classic title.

First win by country.

USA 1999
Phillipines 1999
Finland 2002
Germany 2004
The Netherlands 2007
Canada 2012
Scotland 2016
England 2018
Taiwan 2019
Spain 2022
Russia 2022

Just a beautiful tournament for Joshua.
Filler is definitely exhausted, not his usual celebration. Well played Joshua Filler, that was some amazing pool!
Could be the exhaustion, but Pia said something to him after his banks celebration over Shane. When Filler beat JHall in the Banks final, there was no yelling celebration. It was a nice change.

Limit the fields to 256 with no buybacks, extend it by one day, change the venue and put Matchroom in charge.

It worked because the fields 25 years ago were 200-250. That’s what it should be capped at. 300 MAX! Then you really have a good experience as a fan and a player.
Why limit the fields when there are other ways to solve the problem? When this tourney is such a colossal undertaking to begin with, why not just add a day to it? Heck add a week and add an amateur event or two to start it off. I think capping the fields is the wrong direction.
