Mook! What's a Mook?

Just yesterday I was telling the IPT story to a tennis friend, he seemed pretty interested, especially about the non-payment issue, but when I mentioned Kevin Trudeau's name he said that he never heard of him.

So in trying to explain who KT was, I asked him if he has ever seen the Natural Cures infomercial. Being a health freak, he replies "sure, I just ordered the book last week and can't wait to recieve it. Hope that I get it before the FTC conficates them all, you know that they are in cahoots with the drug companies to stop the information from getting to the public"

I literally couldn't believe what I was hearing, I thought that this guy had, at least, a half of a human brain.

Well, I start telling him about KY's (oops, meant KT) his past history; his convictions, prison time, FTC fines and bannings from doing informercials and doing business in different states. About his other products and claims, Memory Systems, Weight Loss, Hair Growth, Cancer cures, especially the Electromagnetic Chaos Eliminator (always grabs me), etc.. His reply, "they're always trying to make these guys look bad", didn't faze him in the least, I couldn't believe it.

Even when I told him about the thousands of complaints from people claiming that they were bilked on their credit cards and claims that they were billed for products and newsletters that they never ordered and it was almost impossible to cancel them, it didn't matter. He wasn't worried, never researched KT on the web before ordering and began looking at me as though I was crazy. Finally I just changed the topic, he's a great doubles partner.

So, I guess that I shouldn't be too surprised when I read that people are still paying to enter qualifiers to play on a tour that hasn't paid the players for it's last tournament, others buying tickets to a tournament that may not take place, still more giving KT their credit card numbers, or even the players talking about showing up to play in the Chicago event although they haven't been paid for Reno event, and have no guarantees that they will get paid for Chicago.

People will believe what they want to believe, always!
