I really didn't want to start this thread.

A little under a month ago I sent a money order out to Bret O. (full name and original money order available) to purchase a Meucci HOF-2, a 3/5 case and 4 spare shafts from him. This was April 23rd.

The items were posted here on AZ by a friend of Bret's, namely Dan C. in this thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=60521

Ever since sending the money, I've gotten the run-around from Dan (I never had contact with Bret, aside from sending him the money). Excuses ranging from busy at work, didn't pick up the money yet, my shipping address isn't correct, family-member died, just got back from vacation, will drop it of in the morning (more than once) etc., etc.

Two days ago I sent him an ultimatum demanding my money back or a tracking number for the package. This demand was repeated late last night, and Dan has read it, because he has been online since. No replys in the last five days.........

So here it is, Dan (or Bret) I want my stuff or my money back and I want it now!

Well this sentence from the original post for the cue/case doesn't help the guy as far as excuses.

"i have the cue and it can be shipped just as soon as it sells as i'm at the UPS office everyday"

He sounds like another scumbag scam artist ala bbkozy. I think people who do that shit on here should have their priviledges revoked.

Postal Money Order sent by U.S. mail?

If so contact your postmaster and tell them you want to track it to see if it was lost and you want to file a lost money order claim. Give them the tracking info and the money order info. The local postmaster should have the other postmaster contact you. Tell him you sent payment but have not recieved your merchandise. Give him any contact info. He will contact the seller and ask if he has recieved the payment and why you are without your cue.
Keep your contact info for the other postmaster. He will inform the seller that he can be charged with two felonies if you don't recieve your cue. The post office takes this kind of thing seriously. They often get imediate results. They did for me anyway.
Nick :)

good info.

Nick, that is a very good info. I'll remember this one thanks.

Hello Nick,

It was a Western Union Money Transfer, I live in Europe so that is pretty much the only way to get money out to the US fast other than paypal. I will contact them in the morning and see what they can do, at least I'll know when and where he cashed it.

Hey Dave,

Sorry to hear of your bad adventure. Have you asked for the friends / real owner of the cues phone number? You should be speaking with him.

Hi Josh,

Yeah, it's a bummer. I hope it will turn out ok obviously.
I haven't asked or Bret's phone-number, the way I understand it he's a trucker and out for days at a time, that's why Dan posted it for him.
As is written in the original thread Dan had the case in his posession, that's why I think I should communicate with him.
Now, the money was sent to Bret, and it's his address and so on that I have so contacting him shouldn't be a problem, but my beef is with Dan.
He's been real friendly and communicative up until a few days back. Now there's just no more answer....

Sorry this happened to you Dave,IMO when he quit comm. with you, that's his chicken-shit way of saying catch me if you can. This is one of the most infuriating things that can happen to a guy.If there is anything I can do to help here in the States let me know!Jim. I noticed Chilicothe,Oh,as his area-only 90 mi. from me.

I too was also interested in the purchase of it and wanted pics ,but never got any. Sorry to hear about the trouble your having and hope it works out. f
From what i have seen in the past most the time things do work out. Getting the run around and not hearing from anyone makes you nervous and upset, but dont give up hope yet.

Thanks for all the support and ideas so far guys!
I certainly haven't given up hope, I mean who would want all this on their head for $225? Let's hope Dan sees this thread and gets his act together.

not saying this is the case but perhaps it could be that because u put his friends name on the money order, he has not been able to cash it and therefore cannot send ur stuff. like u said, his friend is a trucker and on the road a lot so maybe he didnt have a chance to give it to his friend to cash it yet so he cant send it.

i just dont wanna believe that someone would scam 200 dollars cuz thats just dumb.

I'm not 100% sure, but 99 that the money transfer has been cashed at least two weeks ago. He told me several weeks ago that he (or Bret) had tried to send the package, but the address was invalid according to the post-office.

I think anytime you can get anyone else involved it helps.

Good Luck,

Ken

Just a thought...

It appears that you are definitely getting the runaround from these guys, however, over the years I've noticed that if you ask three people in a European city to write their addresses down, you might get addresses in three different formats. This can be very confusing to someone in the US, and might cause problems as the parcel changes hands through the international mail system. I've had packages returned to me when I wrote the shipping address down exactly as the recipient specified.

I realize that this is not the problem you are having, but it's something for everyone to keep in mind.

I just got off the phone with Western Union, unfortunately there's not a whole lot they can do.

I see that Dan hasn't been online since posting this thread, I've sent him a pm with a link to this thread, but I did notice that his reputation has gone down. At least some of you are trying to help persuade Dan, thanks for that guys!

Dan? The ball is in your court mate, make this right.
