Deal gone bad with Ironhead_79

Of all of the scams that I have come across almost all of them use Western Union. Never ever use western union. Find another way. There is always another way. Sorry to hear about your loss. Best of luck

I hear things like this all the time. You should only use this and don't use that. Folks, Western Union simply provides a service...they are really not the problem here. As bad and direct as this sounds, the problem is that so many people are willing to blindly jump into a transaction where they do not know the other party. And most of the time, it's simply to try to save a minimal amount of money. Try to buy from known, proven sellers, with references whenever you can get them. If you are worried, offer to pay for the $10 C.O.D. charge where you receive the item and then let the shipping company deliver a certified check back to the unknown seller overnight.

The point here is that all buyers and sellers need to do their research and due diligence when embarking on a transaction over the Internet where the two parties don't know one another. If we are buying or selling a cue, if anything remotely looks or sounds suspect, we immediately begin asking questions.

For all the Western Union bashing, I must disagree. Western Union is one of the few full proof ways to get cash safely from one country to another. How many of you have sold something through paypal and knew the right person got it and then they claimed not to have and you eat the charge? Never happened to me, but some on here have had it happen. Same way with credit cards. But Western Union once picked up by the right person it is a done deal cash wise. Sure paypal offers some protection on lower dollars sales. But Western Union is cash in hand. Remember sellers get scammed also. So I suggest only buying from reliable well known dealers if you are afraid the seller won't deliver. Also since this guy does drive a truck and had an address problem, you will probably get your cue in time. He needs to take care of it as soon as he gets back in town. Have you sent him a updated address? It has taken me as many as ten emails to get an address from some people in other countries that would satisfy UPS for shipping.

I think your right on his profile it shows he was on @7:12pm tonight

Just trying to help a little here's a copy and paste of his profile if all else falls through you have alot of personal info here to do a back ground check through a service that will give a boat load of info on him for the last 10 years, I know this because i had a boss skip out on payroll one time and i drove to his new house and caught him off gaurd. Hopefully you dont have to go this far but its available do a search on google you will be amazed what you pull up.

hope it ends on a better note.

I agree, Western Union isn't the problem. Dan not shipping the items to me is.

I have supplied Dan with an updated shipping address, allthough the only thing I could add is the English terms, example: "6161 BT (Postal Code)". The truck driver isn't the shipper in this case btw, his friend is.

Dan has re-established contact with me, so I'm more hopeful than at the start of this thread that this will work out for the best.

I hope it isn't....still no tracking number or a refund. Bummer. I've sent Dan another pm.

Still no tracking number or refund from Dan. I've sent him a message stating if I don't have one or the other tonight I'll post his and Bret's personal information in the thread here. I hope it doens't come to that, but it's not looking good at this point....

Yea I cant say that I blame you. You can only put up with this nonsense for so long. I am sure you may catch some heat over doing that. But I think you have done everything you can do. Best of luck to you.

I would try calling him instead of PM'ing him. Just to talk to him in real time about this fiasco.

I know you says it cost a ton to call internation, but $15 - $20 is a small price to pay compared to what you are possibly out if you never get a refund or the merchandise.

I HATE TO SEE THIS CRAP HAPPEN......I HAVE SOME FRIENDS IN OHIO, IF YOU NEED ANY HELP LET ME KNOW.

Thanks for the offer Marcus, I have had several other people PM me aswell, nice to know there is help out there. Maybe I can hire the AZ-Team:D . One would think no-one would want trouble for $225. Let's hope Dan doesn't either. I have sent Dan my phone number and requested he call me or send me his. I have allready checked the white pages for his number with no luck.

Hi Shane, just letting the board know your payment was received two days ago, I pm'ed you about it as you know, it was an international bank transfer and took one day longer then expected. You were great to deal with Shane and glad you're happy with the shaft. Played with it yet?
