Deano Cue Review

This review is based solely on my own personal preferences and should be taken that way.

I wanted to play with the cue for at least 30 hours before I gave any type of review. After completing the 30+ hours, I feel that I can give an honest and fair assessment of the cues playability. Very well balanced cue. I was really surprised with the cues hit. It was very solid without any reverb. The shaft stiffness is in the medium range but has a very low deflection factor. English shots were good but not what I am used too from my every day player. The cue broke the balls with an explosion. Balls leaping into the pockets and was still able to control the rock. I spent hours trying to remember where I had played with a cue that played with these similarities. Then it hit me and I took one of my Titlist off the wall and hit some balls. There it was that same hit with no reverb and very little deflection. The cue plays very good and I can see with the low deflection how it could improve ones game. I am not going to make it my every day player but it does make the case for a break cue.

I would also like thank Dean for the cue. It was definitely worth the money.

Hay Riki!

It sounds like it would make a good one hole cue.
What do you think. Is it a good putter. I bet Danny was telling you the whole time that you need to just shoot with one cue.:D
Long time buddy,:D
Nick :)

It's good to get an. honest review from a player of this caliber. We are trying to make a few adjustments with the hope that we can get him to use our cue regularly. We appreciate his knowledgable remarks and hope to see if we can make the Deano an even better cue for players of all skill levels.
WE feel like the man who jumped off a tall building and as he passed one floor after another, when asked how he was doing replied'"so far so good"

So far our cue has only good reviews from the buyer"so far so good."

Dean,

You guys are right on track. I did not want to alter the cue during the initial review process. But now I am now going to have the ferrule change to ivory and the tip replaced with a Victory. (It is my personal preference) I will then give the cue another 20 to 30 hours as my player. After which I will let my findings be known on this board. I truly think those small changes will increase the response of English to the level I am looking for.

Keep up the good work.

I've been playing pool for 35yrs and stay on top of most products. I'm a hardware junkie and play with a modified OB1 with a Sniper tip. I've NEVER heard of a "Victory" tip...are you serious? If you think that an ivory ferule has anything to do with the amout of english you get then that shows your level of play right there.

why wouldn't a tip and ferrule change, change how the cue hits? Of course it will, might not be the result the OP wants, but then again it might. Different tips most certainly play differently. Ivory hits different than say Melemine (spelling is wrong). Personally I don't like ivory's hit as much, think it produces a softer hit. But it will be different than what it is now.

I'm sure Riki would play you for your eyeballs!

What kind of ferrule and length does it have?
Threaded on or sleeved?

It was 3/4 inch Titan Ferrule with a 3/8 inch tendon. It is now a 1 inch Ivory ferrule because of the cap. And yes it was sleeved.

Nick,

Yes, the Victory tips are the ones that Danny Tibbitts and I are making. They should be in full release to the general public in late spring or early summer.
