Deano Cue

Hey, its still a really fun cue to play with. And no, I wouldn't pay a dime extra for one if the bloody queen herself signed one, sat on it without undies and put one of her boogers on the tip. But the dang thing is fun to play with. My wife had to remind me that when home, I can't hit balls with it ALL the time......

**** JoeyInCali has done business with several friends and acquaintances of mine and they love his product and the way he does business. His cues have a track record and his credibility is unimpeachable.

Bruce-

On either this forum or the IP forum Joey posted some pictures of a few of his cues. The thread was titled Mop Handles, or something like that.

To compare the Dean "cue" to one of Joey's is sorta like comparing a BMW to a Yugo.

Do you know Joey? Have you ever spoken with him about cues?

I didn't think so.

I believe SirBanksALot's post was "pro-Joey" not a knock on his cues.

In that case, I apologize - I have the highest respect for Joey, so perhaps I read the post wrong. The 'mop handle' remark, and then Deano/Joey ==> BMW/Yugo lined up kind of negative.

Again, sorry...and Happy Saturday.

Wow! Ouch! Help!

I understand that its cold and gray in the PNW and guys in tights might be just the thing for those dreary winter days-LOL.:D

Just as I told Ross-what happens in the privacy of those PNW poolrooms, stays in that poolroom.

In 4 hours all the initial experimental cues will no longer be available.
The excitement of offering you a chance to own the best hitting cue, I ever had ,has been great.

The cue has caused quite a controversy up till now.I admit my marketing strategy was not orthodox. Why? When I first got on az I was amazed at all of the ideas that people thought were important.

Let me give you an example

Everyone said that I could not sell a cue without pictures.I proved that I could by selling dozens. Why didn't I post pictures at first?Because I knew that most people jump to a conclusion based on appearances. For example when they saw my joint, they said it was just like this,or just like that.Wrong thinking! If you look at an Adams steel joint and the picture is the same thread that Balabushka used ,Is it right to say an Adams is just like a Balabushka.Or Szamboti,or Scruggs..this type of thinking that just because the joint is the same that the cues or the play is the same.

I have refused to talk details with you because I don't think that all the reasons (people think a cue is good )make sense.I've seen people order the same balance point, weight etc and never get a cue that was what they wanted.AND i am not just talking about the average az er,I am talking about well known custom cue makers.

What about great pool players? Schon used to sponser a well known champion,he always demanded certain specs,19.25,certain woods, etc Well one day this player saw a $12,000 cue and asked about it,oh no said Evan Clark that cue is not your specs. But I like it says the player, but it weighs 21ounces,no problem says the player who takes the 21ounce cue and wins the U S OPEN. the point-the specs were not so important.

Well(now please don't be offended) when I got on az many people were talking about technical things like balance point etc and when I asked some of the really great cue makers, all agreed that they didn't know what they were talking about! So I asked you to buy in the dark because I knew the cue was right and to tell the truth you didn't know enough to discuss it.I am not saying I know a lot but I do know a good cue whaen I play with it,and dozens of players agree.

I asked you to believe me and take a chance if you could afford it.

To those of you who have,I promise to give you the best cue I ever hit.I don't know how much the taper helps,I don't know if its the way we shaped the butt, maybe the wood joint, the unusual ferrule construction,I honestly don't know.I think it is a little bit of everything.I do know it is easy to play with, easy to draw, easy to control

Some of you may read this and think I am arrogant for thinking that most of you don't know much about what goes into making one cue play good while another one that has the same joint, etc plays bad.BUT ITS TRUE.i
iF YOU EVER EXPECTto improve sometimes you need to come face to face with the fact that what you think you know needs to be tested.

You have till 12:00Dallas time to buy, quit stalling

Oh yes and to all of those of you who have implied that I was lying or stealing.POOEY on you.Why didn't you at least call to get your facts straight before you ran your mouth?Pooey

Well I call this post a lesson in salesmanship.
