Deano

The absurd analogies expressed moronically reflects the author’s hyperbolic rationale and pontification about Deanoc.
What's absurd is your belief that it is not ok to be opposed to something that you haven't been personally victimized by. It indicates incredibly low critical thinking skills, and incredibly high immorality.

What's sad is your defense of and support for scams and scammers.

After reading through every post in this thread out of curiosity, I wanna share my own opinion on the matter.

I have neither owned nor played a jackpot cue. I haven't had any business with Deanoc whatsoever.

What I can say is, that if someone offered me a Plain Jane made by a (somewhat known) cuemaker for $600 I'd think it's a good deal. If I later find out, that the cue was built by someone else (a shop that offers semi-customs at best) and that the exact same cue is worth $250 instead of $600 I would be pissed. It doesn't matter if the cue plays good or not.
I don't have a problem with someone making a profit by ordering and reselling cues, I only have a problem with someone lying about the origin of the cue.

I play a cue that's a collaboration between a shop owner (who designed the cue and gave the rough specs) and a cuemaker who built the cue for him. The cue is semi custom as it's part of series of similar cues with the same design, just different woods. The difference is I wasn't deceived in who's the builder and I wasn't charged +$300 for a cue that I could've ordered myself at a semi-custom shop.

I totally understand that some guys had deals with Deanoc that were smooth and nobody doubts it. But the same guys must realize that he screwed over a lot of other people. I also believe that some people are happy with the cues they got and don't care if they could've ordered the same cues themselves for a third of the price. It doesn't really matter because even if they are happy with their cues they were victims of a scam, like it or not.

Your 110% right above, someone started this thread asking where’s Deanoc, I replied to question.

Then the famous Jackpot Cues became topic. Flame War.🔥🔥🔥

Why I have zero idea, even Bill Stroud Design Your Own Cue Contest came into thread.

That that contest, the prize, and winner getting nothing died INHO with Bills death.
Correct, the famous Jackpot cues became topic because they are what caused Deanoc to FINALLY go into retirement. You screw over enough people...you realize you can't do business anymore. I realize logic still manages to evade you Cookoobolo, but hopefully one of these days you'll understand.

Trust me he is bush league.

Deanoc was fair & honest in me, and many others who bought & sold from Deanoc.

No reason to throw him under bus.

Peoplebwho never had a deal with Deanoc, seem to be expert on all thing Deanoc.

I will
Public ally state I do not like Chick A Filet, or what ever it called. Tried twice, 🤮. Nothing I am going back a third time four,
You are a delusional, clueless old man. You probably do need some help. Your posts are often SO far off target they make ZERO sense. Please get some help and quit digging yourself a hole deeper than you already have. What Dean did/didn't do in the past has NOTHING to do with the scam he pulled with the Jackpot charade. You're either too fk'd in the head or just plain too stupid to get it.

At this time, it's difficult for me to see such division in a place I enjoy reading each morning.

What if I were to tell you that you were all played on this one. Fake ID started it and I know who that person is, he called me a few times over the years and one time he told me exactly what his fake ID was. At this time his normal ID has not logged in for over a month but the second he sees me saying this, he will log in to deny, now that I put this last sentence in, he's now in the trickbag, we can watch the login.

IMHO, fraud is wrong, lying to sell any item is wrong, defending wrong is wrong.

With that being said, Deano is not a public figure and we have no right to continue talking about a man not here to represent himself. The only legal reason he can be talked about on this forum is due to his listing and selling here, henceforth, he brought this upon himself.

He isn't banned. If he had any interest in directly addressing the deception he could have done it back then or could do it now.

Before you create an argument, please reread what I posted. NEVER did I say Deano was banned and I do agree with your statement, Thank you.

Correct. Basically all David is saying is "Dean can't be talked about unless he gives us ammo." Since Dean screwed a bunch of people over, he gave us the ammo, and rightfully we are blasting him with it. Personally for the people who say "It's done and over with, this shouldn't come back up", I feel each time Dean's name is mentioned it deserves to be. The second it looks like a safe place for Dean is the second the games can start again.

Hope you get shrink - couch help you need, you are OCD about Deanoc.

It sounds like someone tried to pass off a Toyota as a Lexus. Now, the Camry is a fine automobile. But, if someone is tricked into believing they are buying a Lexus ES350, than it's fraud. It's unethical behavior even if done by nice people.

Having been under friend Lexus SUV, did see word Toyota on frame.

In Van Nyes, CA GM build Firebirds & Camerons on same line, but too different cars.

Keep defending him you moron. Only one here with ocd is you. For some reason you think lying and fraud is ok as long as someone treated you right in the past. Think about that for a second. Really makes you look like a douchebag, huh??

Coocoo, is there anything you don't have a dumb comeback for? I mean seriously it makes me wonder sometimes if you really are that far gone, or if you just enjoy playing the moron card. I can't believe I'm going to say this but can we please trade and get Justin back if you go away?

As usual, Hu is dead on.

Maybe the rest (some, many, most) of you may not have not had the same experience I have, but the poolrooms I frequented, or adopted, were very much my living rooms. This forum shares many of the same attributes. I have often observed to myself that there is a fundamental difference between poolrooms and forums, and the decorum or lack, owing to one being "virtual" and the other real. Much of the more egregious conduct found in this forum would not have occurred in the first place or would have been quickly extinguished in a real world pool room. In my old real rooms, bad behavior and bad attitudes were very often followed by real consequences -- jawing only went on so far or long. In this incomplete virtual world, there is so much we are forced to abide due to the absence of immediate physical access.

We all sin. If we were "better" folks, we would have hung out in church and would now be posting in a Bible Study forum. But we are what we are, with shared experiences and lessons. One lesson Dean missed, or rejected, was the necessity of acceptance/acknowledgment of fault/responsibility and true expression of repentance. In most disputes, people are not seeking compensation alone -- they want, or need, to hear: "I was wrong . . . I am sorry." Words more are more valuable than gold in many situations. The same holds true where someone has actively defended a third party who is ultimately proven to have been in the wrong: "Dean was wrong . . . I was wrong . . . I am sorry that . . .". I have not followed each and every step in the Jackpot Travail, but I would guess that, if such words had ever been offered, or timely offered, we would not be engaged in the instant exercise.

My grandfather was often heard to say, "you can try to sell me a bowl of shit, just don't try to tell me it is ice cream." I have often pondered his exact, deepest, meaning without a satisfactory conclusion, but I somehow sense that he provides a perfectly appropriate assessment of Dean's situation.

You and your grandfather are both wise people and you are kind and generous with your praise. Thank You!

I mentioned him handling the aftermath poorly but you went into much more and better detail than I did about an apology. If one is owed give it freely and unstintedly. Sometimes a bit more than a refund is needed. It would have made all of the difference in the world if instead of trying to cover up Dean just admitted what he did and that it was wrong. That would have done little damage to his reputation and we would still have Dean around to enjoy his company.

Much of the pool world I knew as a young man has already died and the most of the rest is on the brink. It makes me regret the loss of those like Dean even acknowledging his mistakes. Some of my great pleasures were my phone conversations with Hal Houle. He had gotten annoyed with trying to work over the phone and we didn't talk about aiming systems the first time, didn't even try to afterwards. His window onto history as a man who had traveled with Ralph Greenleaf and lived through the era was fantastic! Of course just like everyone else, it was his window, not the whole truth, but I understand that even if a person was there. I have been present at a few newsworthy events over the years and what I saw never matched what was reported. Not that anyone lied, just were looking through different windows.

I deeply regret every one of the windows into yesterday's pool world that closes. Those that are still alive and could talk but don't maybe more than those that passed and can't. Keith McCready is one of the youngest with old school knowledge and I heartily wish he would talk or Jennie publish her book. Reading her other writings I am sure it is very good, has been very good for quite awhile, but she can't quit seeking perfection. I understand as I have been guilty of seeking perfection in many things but dagnabbit as another lady I know says, I want the book! Jennie's own story would be interesting also. While not a major player herself, she was a "fly on the wall" around pool long before she met Keith.

Derailing this thread a little but trying to explain why I value Dean even acknowledging his imperfections. I would happily welcome Dean back to AZB if he cared to come. He is a window into the past.
