We were discussing how Alex Pagulayan couldn't get a spot from anyone in any game,
but Bucktooth humbly suggests you might spot him in Banks. True or false?

Sincerely,
CreeDo

I'm guessing this is false. If not please let me know when something is set so I can bet on Alex.

In full rack bank pool, John could spot Alex and beat him consistently. Short rack, not so much.

To only slightly stray from the subject......I asked JB, when we were in Tunica, as to when was the last time anyone spotted him a ball in Banks. I busted out laughing at his response.

I then asked him the last time anyone spotted him 2 balls, but for the life of me, I don't remember what his answer to that question was.....

Hard for me to answer that since we have never matched up. In my neck of the woods,we play first and then go from there.I would play him some full rack banks, however. John B.

Follow up question:

When playing onepocket, how do you leave a champion bank player a situation he can't bank, kick-bank or otherwise shoot his way out of?

- JL (found out the hard way)

Side note: tent is packed, will shout at you soon about that...

Second side note: I still remember that onepocket game at DCC, you vs. Appleton where you banked that ball into the ball at the side rail, sent it home and won the game from there. GREAT match to watch....

An overly modest answer, as usual, sir.

So I'll do the bragging for you.
An old-timer told me full-rack banks is the most skillful game....
...the moves are more intricate than one-pocket.

So if a player who has not played full-rack wants to mess with you.....
....he can forget about having money.

Short-rack banks is like playing short-rack snooker....a good shot-maker can win.

Thanks for getting back to me sir!
So, sight unseen, you'll play him even (despite his rep as a champion) but it's possible you'd adjust
and give him a ball if he kept coming up short?

I have trouble imagining him need a ball since he's won the DCC banks before and that's tough action.
But it was short rack.

Thanks,I think, lol.Yes and you forgot to mention the part about how full rack banks has the least amount of luck than any pool game. Just like Pebble Beach It's a true test of skill, haha. JB

You don't have to call me sir,Sir,lol Yes,I will play Alex, even though he has beat me in that last two bank tourneys:angry::) And yes if he keeps coming up short,I will offer him something. I'm not sure I can win but I think I can.He better bring a coke box to stand on cause he will be shooting jacked up off the end rail alot, haha. I'd like to play him at the next dcc,if you run into him,Thanks! JB

That would be a nice match to watch, or even a TAR.. start off with some 1P, move to some short rack and finish it up with full rack.

Would be cool if you guys ever did match up, based on this idle conversation :)
Maybe instead of a ball you spot him the stepladder.

You should go over to JCIN's thread about the TAR podcast tomorrow and suggest this!

JB, when was the last time anyone spotted you a ball in short rack banks?

When was the last time they spotted you 2 balls in short racks?

When was the last time anyone spotted you anything in full rack banks?

I'm not sure how many people would pay to watch a TAR "bank" match-up, but I wouldn't miss one shot......race to 20/30 full rack..?

Hope this happens:wink:

I've been working on the straight back bank like on your video. The object ball is close to the side rail, cue ball behind it...toughy
