can i ask you for a favor? can you write a column on the mag about me with the title "biggest earl's fan in far east?" thanks in advance. how long did you train that dog to shoot pool? is it the best dog player in the world? and you've said there're only 8 players in world who are better than you and may i know who they are? can you post that site with the dog here again? thanks. i also wonder, in order to drop 5 balls and wait for all the balls to stop rolling wouldve taken about 10 secs right? are you saying that the rest 10 balls were pocketed in 24, or 26 secs?

I recently wrote a column on Willie Hoppe, I am sure I will get around to Earl soon, I am a big fan of him as well, he is a great American champion and world champion, the fans here need to give him more respect and support.
I took a few months to train Jake, wonder Dog I, 9 years ago, Jake now trains the new dogs, not me, I have 3 more, Max, abbey and bubba. Jake is truly the worlds smartest dog and the best pool playing dog on earth. Nobody can beat him, he just goes 8 and out, 8 and out, how can you win.
I never said there were only 8 players in the world who are better than me, never. In pool, there are now hundreds, thousands better than me. My best pool was played in the 60's, that was a long time ago. Then, I might have been the 75th best player in the county at best at the time. I never tried to be the best pool player. At this years BCA show in Vegas I did take on all challengers and did defeat two pro tour male players, one was ranked in the high 20's, the other in the low 30's, so I still can play a lick. I can run 2 or 3 racks on you now and then still. Not bad for a guy blind in his dominate eye.
In Artistic, I was always in the top 4, with Massey, Rossman, Gerni, in the mid 90's was 2 or 3, Mike was always the best. At one point I was dead even with Rossman. Now I am probably #8, if I would come out an play which I have no interest to. If I would work at it I might get back down to #3 or 4 at best. Stefano Perlinga, a fine friend of mine is playing well now. Gumelli is tough. Sigel is on the way up. The polish kid is going to make a move.
You asked for my web site,
www.fastlarrypool.com you can see me run a rack of 15 balls without allowing the cue ball to touch a rail, its a nice drill to work on, quite a challenge of your touch.
The fast rack, it did not take that long for the balls to stop, plus, you only have to wait for the cue ball to stop, not the other balls, so you hit all kill shots, stop shots, so the cue ball is dead off the break in 3 or 4 seconds. When I ran 15 and out in 33.95 seconds, I broke a record that had stood for 8 years in scotland by almost 4 seconds. That was on a 9' table and was done in 1993, that records still stands today untouched. That is one of my 20 world records.
Pearson has ran a faster rack, I think around 30 seconds, but that was on the smaller 7' bar box, easier pockets, the smaller the table the faster you can run around it. He holds a world record on a 7' table, we both hold world records. I am the worlds fastest pool player, so I have earned my name, fast larry, nobody is faster. How fast am I, when I go to bed at night and flip the light switch off, I am under the covers before the lights go off, I am faster than a speeding bullet....Twice I have won sets of 9 ball winning 10 games in 5 minutes flat, that was how I got my original name, for playing very fast, it was awarded to me in 1960 by Minnesota Fats. I came up in the same room with the original Fast Eddy, we were friends for all of his life. Kling and Allens produced two famous Fast players with Fast names. There was also a Fast Joey that played there as well. Back then playing fast and loose, like Mosconi, was admired and copied by a lot of players.
Best Wishes,
Fast Larry Guninger
