Death of a pool player and friend....sad time.

We lost one of our local Tuesday night APA 9-Ball league players last Wednesday. Penny Padgett died of a brain aneurysm at the way-too-young age of 47. She left behind her husband Gene, a son, a daughter and a grandchild.

Penny and Gene played together on a Tuesday night 9-ball team (not my team). They were a couple that were made for each other...if they were ever angry at each other it's for sure nobody ever knew about it. They were obviously best friends. I can honestly say that in the years that I've played with (against) them I've never met one single person that had one negative thing to say about either Gene or Penny. They are loved by everyone in the league. Penny will be sadly missed. It just won't be the same without that laugh of hers filling the room. Hopefully Gene will continue to play on Tuesday nights. It would be sad for the league to lose him too.

My condolences at this sad time. From everything you write, Penny and Gene are the kind of people we all hope to meet at the poolroom.

Gerald, I am sorry for this family's loss and the loss of a good person in the pool world. May she rest in peace.

That is sad news! My condolences to her family and friends (and to the pool world, which lost a wonderful person, too).

My condolences also. I think that the comraderie of pool players rivals that of family, at least in my case it does. Just knowing that she was a pool player and hearing that she was a good person is enough for me. I genuinely feel a loss. R.I.P.

Our condolences to the Padgett family, friends and loved ones during this sad time as well. Sorry for your loss.

Jerry

What a sudden and tragic loss. My sincere condolences to you and her family.
