I'm shooting with a triangle which is a very hard tip. Its down too its last time shooting. Im getting it replaced tommorow. Elk master, triangle or le pro? Hmm. Or a moori? I do have to admit triangles get a lot of action. But when they get to the bottom there pretty bad.

wrong forum & personal preference....

I'd suggest you take the conversation over to another forum

Tips and such are a personal preference item.....

A Triangle is a single piece of leather which is perfectly fine as a medium/hard tip which a lot of folks use ~ plays great!

Elk Master is soft.....hate them personally.

A layered medium tip would be my preference for you......Talisman, Tiger Emerald, etc....

Moori's are great but, much more expensive.....Kamui's have been the latest go to tip here lately which are more $$$ a G2 supposedly holds chalk better?.....it's really a personal preference.

.....pre-shot routine.....chalk it up and.....

I'll put the Outsville Ki-Techs up against any of the tips mentioned... Single layered and processed to perform like a tip should perform not just pressed to different durometer readings and sold as soft medium or hard...

The Ki-Techs and Outsville are out of Knoxville TN... They are not made in Taiwan and stamped with different brand names to be sold here in the states like so many tips on the market are these days....

Check out pooldawg8. Blue milk duds...man these tips play well....all the characteristics of a hard tip but plays like a med grip..spin ..won't mushroom.only 3.00 each!
I've also tried the kamui black med..very nice...but 22.00 a tip vs 3.00 for the blue milk duds....not even close to being worth the difference.

If you like a triangle and the way it plays, put another one back on. Otherwise, no matter what tip you change to, you start an adjustment period and you may have to change tips several times before you find one that hits like you want it to.

I use lepro...I like them a lot, they are cheap to if you don't like them. On another note I'm going to be trying kumui. Just to see if I like it.

agree, triangles are the best, can't go wrong for the price and they last and maintain their shape well

MilkDud.........

Will play like a Soft-Medium-Hard Multi-Layered Tip (depending "where" you hit the Tip), at the fraction of the cost. In my opinion and having used one for over 6 months, it's the best Tip you can put on your Cue, at a fraction of the cost for a good Multi-Layered Tip (Moori Gen III, G2, Fuji, etc).

Watch out though because not every MilkDud Tip is the same :-)

If you need a MilkDud Tip from a reliable source that is standing behind his product 101% and has a dedicated clientele, please shoot me a PM and I'll give his name (it's not me though :-) - He's a fellow AZer).

My personal preference would be Moori generation three. I would suggest a medium unless you know for sure you like a hard tip. Kamui tips are also quite good, but expensive. I do not like lepro's...they mushroom too much and play poorly for me. Just me two cents.

What he said.

If you found something you like, and play well with it...why change?

I've tried just about everything out there. I like Triangles, just fine. I also like Kamui Medium and Ultraskin Medium. I don't play well enough to really have to worry about adjustments to different tips...but tons of people with talent do!! :)

IMO - you already like what you had...so put more of the same back on there, and let 'er rip!!

I would bet my last dollar that you couldn't tell the difference between Talisman tips and kamui if you didn't know which cue had which. They look the same and play the same. The only difference is the huge gap in price.

I love Jeff's (pooldawg8 ) Milk duds, with an ultraskin medium coming in a close second.
