I just got finished watching a movie called defending your life. Albert Brooks, Merryl Streep. It's about a guy who dies and goes to "judgement city" to be judged on wether he "moves on" or goes back to earth to do it again. Anyway, in judgement city while he waits to be judged, it's like a real city where you can go bowling, horseback riding, or visit the " past lives pavilion" where you see how or who you were in previous lives. I always thought it would be cool to go into a pool room and see all the greats. Brunswick tables as far as the eye can see. Table #38, Strawberry Brooks and Steve Mizerak playing some one pocket. Table #94, Willie Mosconi cussing at Boston Shorty for beating him. Table #12, Tony Ellin and Earl Strickland playing a head set. I know Earl is still with us but I figure his game has gone to a better place. Signs evrywhere stating an exhibition by "Wimpy" Lassiter this Saturday. Jackie Gleason egging on Eddie Taylor for a rematch. All of the "house" cues are made by Burton Spain. Cue Repair done in the corner by Gus Szamboti. Gus and George Balabushka are at the bar talking shop. The pro shop is filled with Paul Mottey, JossWest, PFDs, James White, and Ariel Carmeli cues. All for the taking. All you can eat hot dogs.
I think that would be my heaven. And a couple of hot waitresses, (Alice Rim, Jasmin Ouschan, Ewa Laurance).
