delrin question.

what is your method for getting delrin buttcap and finish smooth and no lip

do you undercut buttsleeve or do buttcap after finish.

obv everyone knows delrin doesnt glue well or hold finish

i saw a searing and youd swear it was finished over it was that smooth

What ever the material, you can always make the butt sleeve slightly smaller & then build up your finish, above it. Then just sand the finish, down to the delrin's level...JER

thats what i do i was wondering how others do it. do you press a label into delrin. i wana but a heat stamp or something like that .... D.S.

No, it's done with either a cnc, pantograph, or in Bill Strouds case hand carved. One of the uses of delrin is in clothes driers where it's often used as the bushing that the drum rides on. You won't "brand a logo in very easily!

i very good friend of mine has a heat press he uses in delrin for his logo. he doesnt remember where he got it.

press, then black marked to fill it in, then sand even. thats his process

laser it and use indian ink.
