The Diamond Wood rack is no where near the quality of the Wood Works rack, but it looks pretty. It's heavy bulky and too complex and has an inly that does what?, plus if you've got a GC it doesn't hang below the ball box. Too much wood IMHO.
 
I have never used the Delta-13 Rack myself....
However, I have experience with it, with particular regard to its euphonious gifts.

I am really straight chuffed to hear that there exists a sound-deadening apparatus for this completely awesome Rack. So happy to hear... really... Im glad to be able to hear.

I have a Delta 13 Elite. I love it, I think its the perfect rack. The noise does not bother me but I also dont ram the rack back and forth either, I suppose it also helps that I am virtually deaf from years of racing. :shocked::shocked:

I also like the Diamond wood racks but I do notice 2 things about them. They will loosen up over time but this is in a commercial setting, I dont think you would ever have that problem on a home table. Problem 2 is during the summer when it gets of humid, the rack will pull the point ball away from the others when you slide the rack forward.
 
Obviously there are still users of the Delta-13 rack that do not know how to use the rack without making the tinkity-tink, klinkity-clank sounds. It's not too hard to use the rack and be able to rack the balls by muting the sounds with your hands. I have never considered buying the dampening inserts as I have never felt the need for them. A little practice and you won't need them either.

As far as the ones who are afraid of marking the cloth with a metal rack, either place the rack where it needs to be (in the "lift-off" position) when racking, or simply slightly lift the rack when rolling it forward. FWIW, I exclusively use my Delta rack on my home table and there are FAR more marks on my 9 year-old cloth from breaking than there is from using the rack. In fact, I don't really see ANY unusual wear in the breaking area on my cloth.
