dennis hatch... no rail?

????????????

wow,,, benny the blade. what game was you watching. i hope someone can put that shot on here for all to see!

I thought he hit rail-first, too.

I could of swore he hit rail first, too.

Hey TAR: can you at least confirm or deny it was a good hit?

Large screen, good resolution, paying close attention because DH said he couldn't clear the 8 ball so I was watching intently. IMHO, rail first, no rail after contact, bad hit. But, ICBW ...and didn't matter anyway, MD didn't ask for KS to watch. Thanks to JCIN and TAR for a great 3-day show.

no rail lets bet?>

the cue ball hit the rail, then comes off hits the six over between the ten and the rail THere was no rail after contact. NO RAIL CMON IF U THIBNK IT HIT THE SIX FIRST THERE WAS NO WAY IT COULD HAVE HE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE FANNED THE BALL AND HE WAS HOOKED ON THE 8 N HAD TO KICK. THE CUE BALL WAS TOO FAR UNDER THE SIX FOR EITHER ONE TO HIT RAIL AFTER THE KICK. NUFF SAID

I seem to be in the minority here, but I thought it was a good hit. I thought what Dennis said afterward was also correct--that if he had hit rail first and then into the 6 ball that the cueball would have taken a straighter path up table (it's funny, I remember Grady and Billy getting into a big argument over the exact same kind of shot on Accu-Stats one time). I could be wrong, though, and it would be interesting to see a replay.

I thought it was good when I saw it on the monitor as it happened. That sure doesnt make it so though as I was doing three other things at the same time.

Ken was 10 feet away and no one called him so it is what it is.

I thought it was good too but it's a moot point, it didn't have any bearing on the outcome of the game. Still, I'm surprised Mike didn't call the ref since the cue was so close to the 8 ball.

Justin, thanks again for some quality pool watching!

Was watching with a friend of mine, I was sitting 4 feet from the TV, it looked rail first to both of us.

If there were no cameras there and Denis and Mike had matched up for money somewhere in the North East US, would it ave been the same kind of exchange [the non-pool part]. If YES than I am happy to have seen what we saw this weekend just like I am happy to see what we will see between Johnny and Shane. TAR opens a window into pool that we hardly get to see in parts of the world, great champions don't come by to play money matches in our local pool halls. What we saw is what pool is like for some of these guys some of the time. Thanks Justin, Mark, sponsors and all of those behind TAR.

If you go by eyes I can see how everyone might disagree but if you go by how the shot played out I don't think it can be a bad hit, possible I guess but not very likely? He hit it with inside right and if it went rail first then ball it would be tough to move the 6 straight across and then also have the cue ball go to our left (his right). I think he caught the 6 real thin on the way in, then rail and cb withh spin moved to our left his right.
