derby city 9 ball breaking rules?

They use the "real" published rules: 1 ball on the spot, no set ball order, break anywhere from behind the line, 4 numbered balls must hit a rail or be pocketed. That's it.

With rack your own, I really wish the 9 didn't count in the bottom two corners :(

I wasn't there but heard that a certain very religious trick shot guy once made 5 out of 9 nine balls on the break in a RYO tournament, wining the set of course

I agree with this.

I saw Archer lose a match at the DCC on an outer table when his opponent snapped the 9 straight in the corner on the hill. Archer was mighty pissed. And, if I'm the one racking for myself, I don't want to have to fade the anger if I mess up the rack and then snap the 9 in (without a template and after the cloth is broken in, not so easy to freeze all the balls).
