Derby City Bigfoot

LOL, that's like saying that 9 foot pool is easier than a barbox because there's so much more room. A 10 foot blue label diamond is my favorite table but it's not easier than playing on a 9 footer...
Like I said, application. Most pool is about stealing so that's what gets the attention and application. Still, it's no big task for a player to goose his shotmaking workout to world beater levels.

I see your point Jay, and of course you are much better informed than I could ever hope to be.

In my experience, I found 10ft much more comfortable. Maybe it is snooker background? Maybe it is a result of the type of 9ft tables I play on? Maybe there is an optimum playing surface area for difficulty of rotation games?

back to the point of the thread, I enjoy watching it, I wouldn't pay for it though.
There is a reason they always played the DCC Bigfoot tournament on a 10' table. It's tougher! In the old days (50's-70's) many rooms had a single 10' table. That's where they played the biggest games with the best players. For several years they had one in the backroom at Johnston City. They played the Ten Ball ring games on that table. Only the best need apply. I loved watching them play back there and it was always packed with fans.

As I mentioned above, after a little thought, it is like other aspects of the table; cloth, pocket size/depth/facing etc. That contribute to its perceived easier play compared to the 9ft tables I mostly play on. I also think that the hall would be doing themselves a disservice to get rid of this table, as I think their intention is to replace it.

There was a place in st louis?maybe. But anyways you had to walk downstairs to like a basement type area where they had several 9 footers and an old 10 foot brunswick. I loved playing on that table but I've always liked playing on the tightest toughest conditions.
