Design/Build your Personal Cue

Hi,

Since recently posting two progress pic threads concerning players who have designed their own Esoteric Cues, I have had multiple PMs concerning the following questions:

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=273765

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=273503

Q: Can I design my own cue and how long will it take to build?

A: I am currently finishing up 4 custom orders and after the Philly Show in June, any cue with points, fancy rings and inlays will take about 6 to 8 weeks to deliver. A more simple cue could be shipped in less than 4 weeks.

Q: Is it possible for me to come to your shop and be a part of the building process?

A: Yes, my shop is north of Chicago in Palatine, Il. If you are willing to travel I can arrange for a two or three day window whereby the cue can be built and assembled while you are involved in the shop. There can be some hands on stuff but for safety reasons many tasks will be prohibited.

If you are local, we can do it on a spot daily or weekly basis like Dan did. If you are traveling I can have many of the components pre made to your spec. and this would allow you to be part of the assembly and tapering processes, inlay and part cutting, inlay install, final tapering, pin install and prep for finishing. Because the finishing process has curing times involved and takes over a week to perform, travelers will wish to forego this step and go home to await their delivery.

Note: There are certain limitations in the design. I will not do Predator type shafts. My parabolic shaft taper is designed to be strong at 13 mm and I will not taper my maple shafts less than 12.75 as this is not the way I want my cues to play or present in the field. If you don't want a modern pro taper maple shaft that pulls flesh when you stroke, my cues are not your cup of tea.

Thanks to everyone who has shown interest in my cues, and I am at your service.

Nice idea Rick.... but....

The sign at the gas station where I worked in 1969 read:

LABOR RATE

$12 per hour
$15 per hour if you watch
$35 per hour if you help

LOL

Kim,

You are dating us old farts. In 69 I was pumping gas at 26.9 and packs of cigs were a quarter.

Inflation is like gravity. It is always working.
