I have designet a cue, but I would like to hear some oppinions, ideas, constructive suggestions...

I have designed a bunch cues until now, but this is the first one that has come to my liking.

questions-

1) What is the main inlay wood? Opps never mind just read the link...Amboyana burl!

2) What is the blue inlay material? (blue river agate, blue turquios, lapis lazula, stained bem ???)

Have you thought about double rings at the joint?

Have you considered doing a outline of the blue inlays in whatever the light material is you used for the other inlays? I think that would help the blue stand out more.

Very nice design.

Nice cue. It looks pretty fancy regaarding the inlays, but the ringwork is maybe overly simple, especcially at A and B. IMO, the ringwork should be black, silver, thin black, Amboyna, thin black, silver, black with the blue material super imposed over as larger diamonds which cut through the silver rings. Also, changing the joint to white and half length should be considered with a 3/8 radial pin unless you want weight and kind of a vibration deadening mass in the center. Just my opinion, but all SS jointed cues feel a little dead to me.

My personal opinion is that it would look more like a pool cue with non-floating points, but I'm guessing that is a core factor in your design.

Design looks great. I agree that the ringwork may be just a little too simple. I don't like the wrap at all. I think black snake or black lizard would be a lot handsomer. That's just my opinion. It's your cue so you go with what you like. Again, a great looking cue.

Looks good, my HO is:

Needs fancier rings, all locations.

To busy at the base of the points, above the wrap.

Needs a different wrap.

Keep up the good work!!!

I think a custom cue like that deserves a custom shaft or two. I'd extend the design into the shafts.

I've tried to follow your advices, black wrap... Rings like "nksmfamjp" wrote..

"measureman" I use photoshop ... For the woods I usually find pictures on the web and crop it for the cues I try to design..

I'd use half the number of blue diamonds on the rings or go back to the brown wrap (maybe both). If you decide to have the cue made I'm not sure how the cuemaker gets the diamonds over the rings. You'd likely need to check with a cuemaker about that.
