This will help the higher skilled players in kicking and going multi-rails. Lesser skilled players will cut down on the number of scratches. Be interesting to see if it cuts down on the runouts much. Johnnyt

I think that they should match up on an oval shaped table. And the game should be banks. That way we get to see something actually different.

It will be interesting as it will change the game by eliminating a bank could have been played in a side pocket and also more balls will be tied up as they may be blocked from the corner but could been made in the side. It will also have an affect on the break, will be one less pocket for any ball including the CB. .

🎱

I think this would work better

Hmm...Well Earl is getting his wish granted. Whatever will he blame if he loses this time? I love watching Earl, but not everything coming out of his mouth is gold, and this is something he's been pontificating about quite a bit.

I have no idea how this will influence the style of play exactly. These guys shoot so straight, that it might not change too much, but then again...I guess we'll have to wait and see. We might learn a few banks to the corner, that were previously impossible.

Reconsidering this. Actually, as crazy as Earl seems to be these days, I would think he would prefer matching up on this:

I think the biggest change will be in breaking. No more 1 in the side pocket in 9-ball, or second-row balls in the side pocket in 10-ball.

It will favor players who are better with long shots...but what pro isn't good with long shots?

It will probably result in more blocked-pocket situations where you have to move a ball that you normally would have shot in a side pocket.

Ah, going back "how it was in the good times" - somewhere in 1700s about, or even earlier?
Because you know, "pool is too easy".

Then they need to hold the sticks behind their backs, too!

Are they bringing out the maces, too, and only using the stick for shots at the bank?

Now I'm done ridiculing Strickland and shall be more positive in 2016 :D
Cheers!

WHY

Just another novelty! How about changing a round of golf to 23 holes instead of 18 without any par 3 holes and with only undulating greens? It'd be different & more difficult but it still wouldn't be golf.

Again.......Why

I like this one for one pocket... it would change the game.

I want a table with MORE pockets not fewer.. I think 8-10 six inch pockets would improve my game..

That's a great idea, then we can all play 10 speed POOL...!

Just imagine the ridicule one would suffer, if they couldn't get out...!

What about a table for one pocket. Just two pockets. At the Sandcastle there is a table used for only one pocket. Super tight pockets.

I just posted a picture of a table that is made for one-pocket, It only has two holes. I believe they call the game "Uptable One-Pocket"

One pocket is played on a 6 pocket table. Why don't they just play their 4 pocket game on a regular table with any ball in the side pocket counted as a foul?
