Diamond arrived update

I talked with the OP, and gave him the advice he was looking for. You talk to a thread on AZB like you're suppose to be someone important or something. In case no one has told you yet, no, you're not important! Your opinion don't matter!
It's an internet forum open to the public.

As such no one's opinion matters.

The guy selling it is a crook too
I can SECOND this one JC!

ATTENTION GUY I AM PISSED OFF AT FOR MANY REASONS: RKC, you even know this guys been tied up in FRAUD more than once..... I watch and lurk on topics like this these days and keep my options out of it, until I have something to contribute. This guy is not as bad as another recent restoration "expert" who defrauded a certain AZB member whom I shall not name, and bought that piece of shit black centennial back from him...<<< notice how professionally I did that :p

but that certain AZB member still got F u C ked over and lost almost $2k on the deal!!! alll of the pain he went through and still does not have a table yet.....

I hear what you're saying, but this really is off topic to this thread, and that table was only mentioned as an example of what Coco wishes he had room for, not that he was asking about buying it😉

Damn tough to beat a good gold crown. If I had one, I probably wouldn't see the need to switch. I'll be looking soon, and the first good used one to come up, either be it a Gold Crown or Diamond, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

There is one scenario where a Diamond would be a must-have. That's if you intend on playing in a big tournament that uses Diamonds. It would be nice to have to practice on.

I knew that guy was a POS long before I even heard of AZ billiards. But that's a whole other story.

Suffice it to say he's been at it a good while.

Well I am not going to play a Tournment with Diamond, I would not have chance of getting into money so, I would avoid. Be stupit to step in to Box Ring and try and go three round with Mike Tyson, so why get beat up.

That's a very good endorsement for Diamonds. They are not easy. What serious player wants easy?

I wouldn't do it for one tournament but if I was trying to be a professional player then yes, I would consider a diamond.

Seems that could be a good endorsement for GC's also, if I'm not going pro, why do I want a tough table?

And, can you not have a GC setup to play tough?

Of course. You can do pretty much anything with enough time, effort and money. I was speaking in terms of what is readily available.

I'm not going pro for baseball either, but when I go to the batting cages I still go in the "fast" cage and not the slow or medium one. So, why would I not want the "tough" table.

Sure, just hire your local table mechanic, and tell him you want your GC to play like a Diamond, then see how tough it plays!!!

I get requests all the time to rebuild GC's to play like Diamonds, but NEVER to make a Diamond play like a GC, wonder why that is😉

Scott Frost played Tony Chohan in a long 1P race on a Red Label Diamond at Paradise Billiards in Lake Worth, FL that was redone with Superspeeds. Table plays real good with 4 1/8 corners. Most Red labels play so bad that anything is an improvement o_O

I hear that, only problem is playing rotation instead of one pocket, will expose more of how the table plays overall.

Hey Glenn, What would be your choice for a GC to make play like a Diamond. Any GC's to absolutely stay away from?? Which is the best GC in your opinion?

The basic design of the GC's are pretty much the same from the 1-6 with just cosmetic changes and design upgrades. If rebuilt with today's advances in designs, any GC can be built to maximize the play of the table to match the play of any other top tier tables of today. Maximum playability of a pool table needs a basic foundation to start with, then rebuilt upon that structure.

All pool tables use cushions, rail bolts, slate, pockets, and a frame design....with the frame design being the deciding factor as to how well the table can be built to play.

The looks of a table, such as the Anniversary, Centennial, GC's, are just that, the looks, but all of those I mentioned are built the same, one is not better than the other when it comes down to playability, that's just a public perception that one plays better than the other.

But I'll say this, the rebuilding of any table is limited by the knowledge of whos doing the work!!

I don't know of anyone that is constantly looking to improve on how tables are worked on. Example of that is take a 3 piece slate table. Everyone, including Mark Gregory still uses all the slate screws to mount the slates to the frame of the tables, if they knew what I do, they'd stop doing that. I just mounted the slates on a 5'×10' Regina 1912 3C billiards table, only using 4 slate screws as dowels to keep the slates from being able to move around, no slate screws were used to match the seams at all.
But, I'm a different kind of table mechanic I guess.

Thanks for the info. Now, which GC's were actually made in USA?
