How do I set a Diamond coin-op Smart Table for free play? I know the I have to turn the barrel key in the keyhole near the trapped ball window, but don't I also have to toggle a switch somewhere inside the coin slot housing?

Nope. Turn that barrel key to horizontal and it should allow the balls to roll freely through the teeter. If it doesn't, you may have another issue.

After you turn the key to the right, while still in that position...pull the key out and it'll stay on free play.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought. I don't own the table, I just do my best to keep it in shape, usually after conferring with Glen. The owner insisted that there was also a switch involved.

Even though I'm old, I don't remember designing in some kind of switch that would have to be flipped to put the table on free play:D

I was pretty sure about that also Glen. Few months ago I asked when you expected to be in NYC area again and I never saw your e-mail about being in the area after delivering a snooker table until I logged in yestrday.

You may be thinking of the Valley programming switches.

No, the owner of the bar and the table was mistaken in his belief there was also a switch involved but I spoke to him today and he tried the key and it activated the free play mode.
