Diamond subrail extension

Jack I have a question. Since this was a simple extension with no angle changes would it be feasible to re use the old rubber? Would stretching it enough to cover the extra 1/4 inch or so per half rail make a noticeable difference in play? I have this vision in my head of adding the extensions with the rubber in place and then pulling the rubber loose half way down on one end only of each rail. Then pulling that half to the end of the extension and re gluing. Once it has dried then repeat on the other end of each rail. How do you think this would affect play or have you done it already and know?

I have never attempted this, but as far as stretching the rubber, it will stretch a little, but 1/2" might be too much? :confused:

Not sure if or how much it would affect the playabilty, but I would make sure your glue bond is secure on the rubber if you're stretching it that much, as it might be fighting itself to get back to its original length ;)
 
Ditto what Donny said Jack!

As far as stretching cushions.....I wouldn't try it as they are manufactured to their own profile and if you stretch them, it will slightly change the profile. Not good in my opinion!
