Little joe's-"pool IQ" dvd series is awesome! Let me tell u this tho...there is a lot of pool tables on the market today new and used...many of the tables are not properly assembled or even made the rite way from the manufacture causing the diamond System to not work accurately and properly while shooting text book shots...
- just a heads up to understand how important it is that you have a table up to par and set up properly...

there are several diamond-systems. And if (like shown up before here) someone says that you need a nice and proper setup table, it s not really wrong. But for sure it will give you always an advantage if you know some systems.
There are many books- I started with a Book from Mr. 100 *Raymond Ceulemans* in the early 80s- Sure some things won t work like on a Carom-Table. But you ll see soon that even on a Pooltable are many common things so that it will help you to have this knowledge:)
You will also find some systems on Dr. Dave s wonderful Pool website- and also on other resources. You will have to practice a lot if you going to be a great banker- much experience is needed for it.
You can search in google and will find many sites about systems- i recommend Banking with the Beard-very nice book. And further: if you have a chance to take some lessons with a good AND experienced 3c Player-book him for some lessons on diamond-systems.

I personally prefer to show students *now* to know about reference-lines. For this they need a reapeatable stroke- if you know how your strokes works, and how the cueball returns from the cushion while using english you learned already a lot and go on with further knowledge about banks, diamonds etc.
But i recommend to learn it with a qualified guy next to you. Alone it will be a hard way:)

Ingo just gave you plenty of help....show some respect....many of us get on here to help its not OUR JOB we do this free.....he gave you some great leads, so its your job to take it from there. What did you expect for one of us to search it for you and post the pics with the tracks so you don't have to do nothing?

There is also a search function on this site....there is tons and tons of information on here and you don't even have to leave the site to find it.....search and learn. Thats part of the growing pains of b/c a player you have to work.

There is also some great reference material on 1, 2 & 3 rail banking and kicking systems on our instructional video, Play Better Pool, Vol. 2; Taking Your Game to the Next Level. It's available on Amazon.com, poolndarts.com, and several other internet pool sites. The bottom line is that the "systems" out there are merely reference points, and learning to utilize the diamonds comes with lots of trial and error...and starts with an accurate stroke.

thank you Scott,As for for grey ghost and SS Academy i wasnt being rude or spitting on anything i was looking for reference material that i hadnt seen already Scott you gave me a few new items to look at that i hadnt found online or was aware of thanks.

If you would really have searched the forum and the web you would have found so much reference-material you couldn t handle in the next months my dear. As Scott has shown up, in his video are some kicking-systems explained. On Dr.Dave s site are also several. And further- Kicking/Bank Systems need a lot of practice, try-out etc.
Without a good and repeatable stroke no system will work-never.
And if you perhaps already have a nice repeatable stroke, i would recommend to work first with reference-lines/english. I think a qualified instructor could tell you about it.

Thanks guys for all your help and as you said there is alot just nothing that has seemed to click for me its usually so much info to take in that i get confused by the time im done reading. it im more of a visiualizer also thanks for the video reference
 
Pick up Robert Byrne's first two pool books, Standard and Advanced, and you will have an excellent basic reference for the standard diamond system.

Dirt cheap to buy, most libraries have them too.
 
It is easy to get overwhelmed with a lot of information (or at least it is for me). I use the system fairly often, but learned it step by step. Kinda like eating an elephant, one bite at a time, not the entire thing. As stated in the literature, evey table plays different so you have to see how each talbe rolls.
 
I gotta tell you folks, I wuz thinking about this thread while playing pool last night.

Why? Cuz I managed to get stitched into banking situations about 7 or 8 times in our little in-house 9-ball tourney. That's 7 or 8 times that I missed quite badly, mind you. :o

I says to myself, "self, you gotta work on that diamond system homework SOON!" :p

I'm actually quite excited to start working on that stuff. Definetley need it!
