I want to see the age distribution of the votes

Old men like GC’s and kids (let’s say 40 ) like Diamonds

I’d bet the farm on that statement

Best
Fatboy <————57 in case you wondered
52. Been playing for over 30 years . I like both lol but diamonds for 7 foot all the way

I played a lot on GCs and Anniversaries….but their designers weren’t pool players….you have to get your thumb under the cue a lot to protect it, which means you’re jacked up unwillingly…..and the GCIII lost me forever.
I‘ve never knocked a ball into a pocket better than a Diamond….and that includes all the snooker tables I’ve played on.
I know the red label have faster rails than I like….but I played on blue labels in 2016 and they were the best.

You’re the only other player that has mentioned GC’s fing up pool cues, and I have a scratched Coos Cue to prove it.

Once again I have an anniversary with black diamond rails, the only better combo would be a centennial with the same rails.

54 - 9' anniversary with black diamond rails.

7' diamond

Only real choices

Although before the black diamond rails I would have said any goldcrown, anniversary, or centennial - nothing like the sound of a pure hit ball on the back of the pocket. But the rails make the table play above the original

I find the people that rave over the tables like they are the greatest thing ever to be the most annoying.

"We're playing on diamonds" Chill out people it's another table. They all pretty much all play the same. This might be geared towards them low level APA players. :ROFLMAO:
We're back to - tell us you know nothing about tables without telling us you know nothing about tables

We have Diamonds and GC1s in our room…..I can drive a froze ball down the rail on a Diamond much more successfully than a GC because of that different cut even though the pocket opening on a Diamond is smaller. RKC can explain it.
One key is to get extended rails instead of shims - shims suck and the ball will stand there in defiance - f going in that pocket

I've currently got a 7ft Diamond and a 9ft gold crown..with 4 inch pockets..they both play great . I am replacing the gold crown
With a diamond as I prefer the way the 9 foot diamonds play ..but I definitely prefer the looks of the gold crown View attachment 773766
Buy black diamond rails and you'll never look to change again. Pure sound with diamond precision

To be honest Valleys are fun AF, didn't play for 5 years and beat the pro ghost 11 to 1 after 30 mins of play. I can't beat my meat after 40 years of play(54) valleys are much more fun 🤣

Yes! I like growing food almost as much as playing pool.
And fishing
And turning wood
And hunting
And drinking beer
God I have a lot of hobbies.
Well damn. you have been growing better than our garden. theres two interesting things in ours. ill take two pics tomorrow. a massive pepper. and a pumpkin bush. the pumpkins grew all over the place this year and climbed the surrounding hedge.

Trob I don't really have an answer but ill share my thoughts.
I do not have a table at my house so havent considered brand and style much.
Since starting out in bar before really learning how to play, i have seen so much shit on bar boxes.
Dead rails, drinks spilled, ripped felt. grooves along the rail. so the ball doesnt bounce. just follows along the rail into the pocket.
Dead nipples. I remember having a ball bounce off a cigerette burn the one time.
But like you guys said valleys are more about the drinking and having fun at the bar.
So after the bars then experienceing fast felt on quality 9 foot tables. What I am trying to say is I'm always paying attention to quality of the table, and having to adjust to felt speed, roll of the table if it isnt prefectly level and all that.
The 9f GCs at the place weve currently been going to are great looking tables. But we have noticed that most of them have a slight roll out.
So long slow shots down the rail can roll away from the corner on one side and toward it on the other,.
It can be distracting working on your own game, and also contending with stuff happening on the table that shouldnt.
From what i understand that isnt a quick fix. they would have to relevel the slabs on all those tables.

My impression of diamonds in the past, at least aesthetics wise. Ive only encountered black ones with silver diamonds.
I think of them as tools of the trade, solid and functional. not fancy.
Sorry for the rambling, just trying to get my thoughts out
