I agree--from the picture the light seems to be about two feet above the recommended height. However, I must say that if the room is otherwise well lit and the owner has a penchant or occasional need for full masse shots, the height is not a bad thing. IMHO, the ONLY thing bad about the Diamond table/light combination is that at the recommended height, the light's size causes it to interfere with full masse shots at most cue ball locations.
Hey the guy that gave me the table to make way for his new IPT Diamond Pro am 9 footer real Diamond light measured 53 inches from cloth and Realkingcobra said at least 50 inches so my light is brighter than diamond because RKC told me to paint inside surfaces bright white and I used chrome insulation on top surface so I mounted at 53 inches above cloth. I used the new super white bulbs also and I never new purpleheart was so purple and Shaquille Oniels head wouldn't hit the light. --Leonard

Oh yea I forgot to tell you that 2 balls wont go into the side pockets side by side and the corners are tighter, I'll try to take some pictures with balls jammed in them.--Leonard

If I'm not wrong, I recall reading that regardless of the height, as long as the light provides enough coverage for the front middle and kitchen of the table, that will do. Should be the standard way that poolrooms guage the height.
Is this Derek Leonard by any chance?
