Diamond Table ??

Hello..I just signed up on this site and I was wondering if someone could possibly help me out with some things..Please remember I am new here so forgive me if this is in the wrong section..I am fairly new to the game of pool also so Im still learning alot of things..

I just recently bought a Diamond Professional table and I would like to get some work done on it..I think its an older model because it has a vintage feel to it..In great shape but by no means perfect..Still for 600 bucks im very happy with the table..

But the ball return on side is off and balls get stuck in the return on that side..If its possible I would like to try and replace the whole thing return system..Its not the plastic style but like a metal style return..I would also like to get the cushions redone and made a bit tighter..Is something a table mechanic can do?? I live in MD and there isnt many of them around my area..Anyway, I was just looking for some suggestions on the ball return issue and how I would go about getting the pockets tighter..And if anyone could suggest what kind of cushions I should put on it would be great as well..I will be refelting the table soon also but I want to get the cushions first..Anyway, Im glad to be here, I love this game and Im hope someone can lend me some advice..Thank you

Perfectpocketz on az can help you since ur close to him, if youre in no hurry realkingcobra is the top dog. He's very slow but very goooood. Start with those two and be ready to invest about 1500 or more but ur table will be better than new when they finish.

That's good advice. Either can make that table as good as it can be. In the meantime, you can probably make the ball return stop sticking by trying to align the two return pieces which fit end to end underneath, at the side pocket. They get out of line, and the ball hits the foot end piece and stops. You can shim them, or do whatever you can to make the rails line up. Sometimes you need to give the return more slope, and lower it at the ball return box area. It wasn't a great system, frankly, at that time and I don't believe you can get a ball return with the new Professionals, just the Pro Ams and Smart Tables. Because of this, you might not be able to get a new one. I would work on the ones you have. You should be able to make them work to your satisfaction. If not, you might want to consider drop pockets. Good luck, you got a great deal either way and welcome to the forum!

Look and post in the "Talk to a Mechanic" section of this forum. There are many mechanics with advice and do good work. There is also a sticky that lists mechanics that can help you.
