Diamond table

That price quote is to modify the table to the point that it would play exactly the same if you'd have just bought a new Diamond table straight from the factory and they're going to install it tomorrow....with what ever pocket size you want.

Thanks Glenn ! Hre are some pics just received.

I have a red label 9' Professional with Dymondwood rails and original rubber, I believe, and I do not experience the springy rail issue at all or any ball hop. My table is at least several years old and I've had it 3 years. The table plays well to me and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. I was worried about the blue label difference when I got it but haven't thought about it once more since mine was set up and seems to play just fine. I personally would not pay $1500 for an upgrade. But maybe I'm not a good enough player to notice a difference? Don't care.

Ed

The Blue label rail redesign came out in October 2010, but there were plenty of red label rails that had not gone through the molder yet, that were in fact milled to the Blue label specs, only they were given the red label name plate instead of the blue label....why would Diamond throw out perfectly good red label name plates instead of using them all up before switching over....so, the question that begs to be asked....is do you know the difference in the design of the rails between the red and blue?....because I do;)

And it has a ball return which makes it quite a bit older as Diamond stopped offering a ball return on the Professionals years ago.

Thanks Glenn ,I was told it was a pro am before I saw the pics , Not really sure of their difference? Thanks

Real King Cobra Table

I bought a used Diamond Professional I took a picture under the rails and sent it to Glen he told me DO-0038 is the first ever made series of Diamond (Early 80's). It is very old and needed a refinish. I sanded it down and restain it and put a new clear coat on it. Glen also told me to get new cushions Artemis 66. When he came he RE-Tooled the table and it plays better and tighter than any of the Diamond Pro Ams in the Pool Halls in all of Vegas. Long banks, short banks, cross corners are all true. And I love how the Diamond Professional looks in the home better than the clunky Diamond Pro AM's with its chunky legs in the way of your foot. The Diamond Professional is sleek, minimalist looking. Playability is the same except I don't hear the ball return noise that Pro AM's make because they are ALL Leather Drop Pockets. Good luck to you and I hope you get a table that you will be happy with. Your son will certainly use it well.

Am older on has the red label. It is going to cost you $1500 to update it to the blue label design which has the right rail height. I would buy a gold crown if you not going to buy a blue label. With that being said I just sold a 4" gold crown 2 and bought a year old diamond blue label 9' pro am

I think he is talking about before the new style, the ones that first came out without the Diamond name that had the old PBT logo and were designed with the players input before they turned into the modern tables.

I played on a few, and really between that and a GC, setup by a good mechanic you will find few differences. I like the pocket design more on the Diamond but as far as it playing "true" and being solid, both are pretty equal.

Hector Perez

If this is how you feel about him now wait til you meet him... Congratulations!

After speaking with Hector, Manny's father, I agreed to rebuild and refinish the Diamond table by steel plate joining the slates together, installing the Diamond leveling system, rebuilding the rails completely, install Artemis intercontinental cushions, new drop pockets...and refinish the table, all worth $2,500....as sponsorship on my part for his son to have a chance at seeing how far he can go in the pool playing world....all for the cost of wearing a Diamond patch representing Diamond tables. I'll be at his location sometime April or May to get started on the job.

Real King Cobra

Once again Glenn has helped someone out of the kindness of his heart, I dont know how many times I have called and asked questions about redoing a table and not once has Glenn ever not helped me out. Hes always been very helpful and his answers were dead on, he takes the time to explain over the phone or send pics so I understood exactly what he was talking about and for that I thank him, Its made my work alot easier and the customers have all been very satisfied. Thank you RKC for all the help you have given on this forum.

Good luck to your son!!! Kudos to Glenn for paying it forward.

Red vs blue diamond tables

There is no noticeable difference! I have owned both and I challenge any high end player to tell me the diff if the label was covered up! You definitely need a diamond for a junior star... Contact Stan Shuffet (Google him for contact info) his son is world class player (Landon). Stan knows!!!
