While you're at it lets get rid of that pesky 'ol bridge, only short people really need it. Hell, who really needs a rack, a REAL player should just be able to put the balls in place without it. This guy sounds like another of those snooker-snobs who think that their game is the only one to play. Diamonds on tables aren't going anywhere. Use them or not, who really gives a flying u-no-what.
No more cues,
Shoot with your thumb,
While we are at it could we remove ball returns too?

Reminds me of the first time I saw a table in Italy. There were cues on the walls, but the players were throwing the ball, sort of like bocce ball. I think there were pins (like tiny bowling pins) on the table too.No more cues,

They didn't seem to be using the diamonds, so I guess they would agree with the OP.
So why not eliminate yardage markers on golf courses........everyone should know what club to hit from anywhere on the course......right?
The diamonds are part of the game and part of the learning/aiming systems. Try learning and becoming a master at 3 cushion billiards without the aid of diamonds.
It is part of the table design and the game itself. So instead of griping about what is an inherent feature of the game we all love, stop looking at the diamonds.
There are players that play well by instinct but they are few and far between the great ones that learned the fundamentals of the game first and allowed their instinctive
style of play to evolve from the fundamentals they learned and practiced. Like I stated, stop looking at the diamonds but don;t complain when a player beats you
because they used and relied upon the diamonds for aid and assistance. If you want to actually pocket a 3 rail kick shot, you damn well had better learn the diamond
system or else you are just guessing, albeit instinctive conjecture on the part of the shooter.
I'm astounded that the original post qualifies as a post.

Well, no, not according to the rules of pool. Here you go:
