Did anyone play with the BeCue at SBE?

I talked to the guy at the booth but did not want to bother him to take the demo cues to try since I was 100% not in the market for a non-custom wood cue for that price. Anyone try it out? How was it? Did it hit better than a 2x4 or a metal rod?

I hit with it. It had the least vibration of any cue I've ever hit with. Nearly zero feedback, completely muted.

And I used the one with the American Flag on it. Many people stopped me and told me they wanted it because of the flag.

They were behind the jerky stand. I went and looked at it. Didnt hit with it. Whatever the shaft is made from or coated with, it seemed to plump/bubble up near the joint... kinda sloppy looking IMO.

No wonder I couldn't find the booth. I only made it to the jerky booth at 9pm on Saturday night & turned back right after. With as much pain as my back was in I probably wouldn't have been able to hit any balls anyway but would've enjoyed talking with the guys.

First I want to say I'm sorry about the booth at SBX. The booth was moved 3 times before the show started. I have access to the booth because I report and shoot pictures for Professor Q Ball. He almost always has a 3-Coushion event at SBX and they were re-arranging us because of the table locations.

Second I feel we had a Good Show - Selling everything plus some and didn't have to let go of my personal cues :)

I do want to say that the cues on display had not had the tips shaped and trimmed, except for my shooting cue. (this addresses the comment about tips earlier)

One of the cues sales was to Mary Carey - He loves the hit and feel and is adjusting to the 11.8 tip since he usually shoots with 12.75 to 13 tip. Feel free to ask his opinion.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Also I have be allowed to run a Special for this weekend:

I am sure he would not have minded you trying it out, even if he knew you would not be making a purchase. I would have tried it out.

That does not sound good.

That does not sound good.

Sounds good to me .. One man's treasure is another's trash .. depends what you like.

Personally I do not want to feel the tip hitting the cue ball. For me a perfect cue would drive the tip through the cue ball like it was a ball of smoke.

My McDermott comes close and that is why I have used it for a very long time, not sure why it hits like it does but I really like it.

The feeling of how the tip reacts when it hits the cue ball is of no value to me .. not even sure how you actually get feed back that tells you anything, but that is just me.

I get all the feed back I need by observing the result of the shot.

It's been about 3 weeks since I started playing the Becue. I will continue to play it for another month or so before I elaborate on it in this forum, but I can tell you now that I absolutely love the hit .. for me this is one of the more positive aspects of the cue.

Biggest adjustment for me really has nothing to do with the cue. I have always played a pro taper shaft at 12.75mm. This 11.8mm conical shaft has forced me to reinvent my bridge hand - a lot of open bridges - so this is a big adjustment for me.

I tried the one Ricky had there....ended up buying one. Just came in the other day. Took a little adjustment but it hits very well. Even teammates who tried it were surprised how well it played. I don't use it yet in league but will keep testing it out. Very well made ...and they are very responsive and helpfu;.

Thanks Frank and glad to hear the cue arrived. I had a good 3 hour run yesterday in practice. First time I got to hit in 3 weeks. My practice partner and team mate was amazed how well I was paying. I told him the Becue made it easy. I had 2 Break and Runs. and lots of short games playing 8 ball. :)

The cues are on special until midnight Friday night if anyone is looking for a deal on a great cue!
