Everyone made fun of him for playing with an extended cue. Then ppl questioned SVB for jumping on that ship and trying it out. Then Shaw did it and look at the year he's had. Now I see Mika does as well, and I'm pretty sure a handful of other good pros. So I wonder if ppl have stopped making fun of Earl for his gadgets or do they continue to mock him?

I thought that he had a longer cue made to play on the 10 ft table. After that I think that he just kept playing with it on the smaller tables and it seemed to work for him. Other players may have tried it and found that it worked for them also.
I think it is like the glove. Many made fun of it and now most wear one.
