If you remove all the personal attacks from DM and Bazooka's posts, they really just boil down to two different philosophies on how to learn to play pool. I think DM has a good method or system for beginning players to learn how to play faster. Bazooka is right about how the top players play. I would seriously doubt that any of the top players from shortstops to the best conciously use any system when they play. They play so much that they do exactly what Bazooka and Keith are describing. However, when you are trying to teach someone how to play this game from square 1, you will be much more successful if you have some structured method to help them out. After they play for a couple of years and they are playing several hours every day and playing in tournaments, what they learned will become honed by "feel" and will probably become a "feel" player if they become good enough.
I think anyone that would put up $1,000 to back either Bazooka or DM against each other has $1,000 that they probably don't need. I would suggest you send that money to the "Big Easy" or what's left of it because they sure could use it right now!!!
