I had to laugh when I read DCP's post. This past yr in Valley Forge I was at the IP party talking to a friend that's a pro player and they introduced me to another player who was standing there. During the conversation, I believe the person asked me if I was a "player" and my response was something to the effect that I have a real job. I didn't mean it the way it came out but it was too late... out loud this guy hollers out to another player sitting talking to other people and said "hey so & so, she says she has a REAL JOB". LOL, smart ass! Anyway, I had to pretty much tell everyone w/in earshot that I what I meant was besides the fact that I don't/can't play, I PREFER to have medical benefits, and a "guaranteed" check every week.
If I played pro calibur when I was much younger and less knowing... I would've made the choice to go pro. Now, older & a little wiser to the ways of the world... not a chance. However, that's just my personal preference made from how my life has played out.
